When you consider all the factors, the choice is clear. But some of them aren't that easy to see...

2/ Before now, when a catastrophe in one area, neighboring hospitals and clinics could support the one in need.

But what if every hospital and clinic is in need? Even the flatter curve will likely exceed our capacity, but that is still better than the alternative...

3/ If there's mass infection throughout our system, it won't just result in greater rates of intensive care and death for victims of #covid19 -- it will also do likewise for every major form of treatment. More people will suffer and die, including medical professionals themselves

4/ We have to #FlattenTheCurve! Lives depend on our actions as a populace.

It's not enough to follow the good advance you're getting on hygiene, social distancing, and self quarantining- you need to be an influencer. You need to inspire friends, family, neighbors to do likewise.

5/ I know for many this has been a lot to handle in a short amount of time. Many are still processing it, that includes me.

But we don't have the luxury to debate this topic as we have many others. Our personal actions can have far reaching consequences we need to be aware of.

6/ My heart goes out to the many medical professionals that will have to work through this terrible crisis.

But for those of us who aren't, we have to recognizes they can only do the best they can with the scarce resources at their command.

The most precious of which is time.
