How hoarders affect the life of my birthmother...
She lives in another city, in dire poverty. She has COPD, Hep C, HIV, MS, & is in a wheel chair - not electric.
She is able to get out every couple of weeks for basic items & medical appointments. #coronavirus

She has to take a taxi bc she cannot carry her items while in the wheelchair on public transportation. She goes to the largest store closest to her because she can get everything she needs at the lowest price possible for items, for cab ride, etc. #caronavirusoutbreak

She can only afford to purchase the bare minimum to get her through the next 2 weeks. She is NOT privileged enough to hoard.
Once she pays the cab to get to her store she cannot find toilet paper & other basic items. She has to make a choice. Buy what she can & pay for cab home.

Or use $20 of her $40 left for groceries to go to another store to find tp. Or, try to get into a public space and steal tp, or go without.
There are 100s at minimum of people in our community in similar situations. Her situation is not an isolated one.

I have zero tolerance for selfish, privileged, hoarders. They are only intentionally causing undue physical and emotional suffering of others.
I am absolutely disgusted by this behavior! #coronavirus
