5. @kroger is making A LOT OF MONEY from the pandemic. I spoke to an employee at a Kroger store in Kentucky yesterday who told me the store they work at made 2x AS MUCH MONEY LAST WEEK AS THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING, typically the biggest week of the year

There are 217 days before the 2020 general election.

So there is time to offer vote-by-mail nationwide.

On its website, UPS claims it's taking a series of steps to protect the health of employees during the pandemic

But DOZENS of UPS workers say those things aren't happening.

Cut Seven is an amazing DC gym bootstrapped by a local couple. It took them 7 years to start. Then they had to shut down.

They are now working to keep their business alive. They have continued to pay all their employees. But they need help to keep going.

Good to hear that @SpeakerPelosi is working on new stimulus package. The question for progressives to decide where is the line in the sand when it comes to #musthave markers in this package.

The tension really boils down to: How many people should the federal government be paying to stay home for the next several weeks, who otherwise would be working? 2/
A large group of public health experts and economists basically say "as many as possible". Reducing gatherings -- including job site gatherings -- appears to be key to reducing spread of the virus. So you tell people who can work from home to do so, the argument goes... 3/

The best way to do that?

Full paid sick leave for ALL employees. Especially food & customer service.
People in service jobs go to work sick because they can't afford to lose hours, or because they'll be fired.

Workplaces like this spread disease. CDC found they cause over 100 outbreaks of norovirus (violent GI illness) alone, every year.

When cities pass mandatory paid sick leave laws, flu rates in that city slow down dramatically.
