I’m really done discussing Bernie as a candidate. He has no shot of winning the nomination, and our country faces much more important issues at the moment than his ego. He had years to make his case and he lost ground relative to 2016.

It’s clear that progressive policy ideas are popular.

The longer we allow our goals to be exclusively associated with HIM, rather than with the broad, inclusive, intersectional movement that preceded his 2016 run, the more we risk.

I understand that some progressive voters feel personal loyalty to Bernie. I don’t. I was a progressive before he started voting, and I’m ~30 years younger than him.
I appreciate the work he’s done for the cause, but if he really cares about our movement, he will step aside.

It’s time to let younger, less divisive, more adaptable politicians step up and lead the way. It’s time for the leaders of the progressive movement to look like the people it purports to represent.
Joe Biden will be a fine one-term caretaker President. He’s good at building coalitions and incorporating multiple viewpoints. He can clean up some of the mess we’re in.
Progressives should focus on winning down ballot. Elect every Dem in every race everywhere.
