2000: Jeffrey Sprecher founded Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) to compete with Enron. It was backed by Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, BP, Total, Shell, Deutsche Bank & Société Générale.

Loeffler joined ICE in 2002.
In 2004, she married Sprecher & was promoted to Sr VP Investor Relations & Corporate Comms.
2018, Loeffler was named CEO of ICE subsidiary, Bakkt, backed by Microsoft & Starbucks, to work cryptocurrency for retirement funds.

Let's start with International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) purchase. June 2001, ICE acquired London-based International Petroleum Exchange (IPE), now ICE Futures. The primary commodity traded through IPE was Brent crude, a global benchmark for oil prices.

New York Board of Trade, NYBOT, is a commodity futures exchange. NYBOT's facilities were originally located at 4 World Trade Center & were destroyed on 9/11.

ICE purchased NYBOT for $1 Billion 9/15/06.

It was renamed ICE Futures US in September, 2007

Missing from my original list, ICE purchased Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) in 2007 for $40 Million. It is now called ICE Futures Canada.

April 2010, ICE bought Climate Exchange & London’s European Climate Exchange, world’s largest marketplace for carbon credits, for $622 million, despite failed UN climate talks & a lack of US action on climate change to comply w/ UN scheme on Climate Change
