Trump spent a lot of time at today's coronavirus briefing lying about his personal finances.

1) He has not lost billions of dollars as president (that's not even possible).

2) Donating his salary is an empty gimmick that allows him to make hundreds of millions of as president
Asked whether his company would take taxpayer money, Trump whines about no one saying "thank you" for his unprecedented financial arrangement, which opens him to unprecedented conflicts of interest and earns him ONE THOUSAND times more money than the normal POTUS salary.
Trump also says that he told "the kids" not to do foreign deals.

In reality, foreign governments and foreign government-tied groups have spent big at his properties, and "the kids" have travelled the world promoting the business and pushing foreign deals.

What's interesting here is that Trump doesn't even pretend not to own and profit from his businesses anymore.

Remember the early days? The stack of documents. The claims of separation.

All pretense is gone now, and now his businesses might get bailed out with taxpayer money.
He also references how he donates his salary, which is an empty gimmick.

His decision not to divest his businesses netted him $434 million in personal revenue in 2018 alone—the last year for which data is available. That's a thousand times more than his presidential salary.
