It's a slippery post, eliding sex & gender all over the place. It comes to the conclusion that people should be re-educated to pretend they believe that men can be women and not allowed to "withdraw" from situations in which this pretence is unacceptable to them.
This is expressed as being all about pronouns (despite the fact that I said I would use preferred pronouns), but skates over how any of this plays out in the real world of bodies.

Is @twitter really removing likes from @jk_rowling 's tweet in support of me on purpose?

Or is there a general glitch that affects all kinds of likes?

Last week I tried an experiment. The results support the second hypothesis.
I asked several friends to like this tweet by JK Rowling, & then a week later to check back to see if their like was still there

Enough of them have come back to say their like has gone to make me think there is a general stickiness glitch
Thank you to everyone who has retweeted the original tweet over past months - it has kept it in the public eye.

But we can probably relax & assume this is just a glitch.

What is true is that there has been policy capture across institutions and people are afraid to speak up

Yesterday we saw a horrendous attack on a Synagogue in San Diego in which Lori Kaye (BDE) was senselessly murdered by a gunman and 3 others wounded. This is not the first nor sadly will it be the last attack on one of our places of worship.
Shortly before y'days attack in San Diego @NudderingNudnik wrote a thread about a credible risk to his own shul here in the UK that was considered of such seriousness that the police felt the need for a high profile presence during the Shabbat service.

You might be thinking these incidents happen in isolation or that the threat to us is minimal or exaggerated.

Sadly that might have been true a few years ago, it is not now!
