Judicial-nomination train is firing back up!

Ds & leftwing allies will demand to stop judicial nominations due to coronavirus.

“You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.” @RahmEmanuel
Judge Cory Wilson is a great pick:
- Miss. Court of Appeals
- Fmr. Member, Miss. House of Reps.
- Fmr. Senior Advisor & Counsel to Miss. Treasurer
- Fmr. Miss. Deputy Secretary of State
- Fmr. Aide to Sec. Rumsfeld
- Fmr. 11th Circuit law clerk
- Yale Law School (and Law Journal)
Kristi Johnson is a solid pick for S.D. Miss.:
- Solicitor General of Miss. (state top appellate attorney)
- Former Assistant United States Attorney (federal prosecutor), S.D. Miss.
- Former attorney in private practice at top firm
- Former law clerk on Fifth Circuit & N.D. Miss.
FYI: @senjudiciary generally waits at least 28 days from the date of nominations until a hearing is held.

In the 30 hearings last Congress, member attendance was sparse.

It generally takes at least another 29 days from the hearing to vote out the nominees to the Senate floor.
In other words, even if the Senate does not establish secure remote voting in committees and on the floor by then (which they should), @senjudiciary and the full Senate would not hold votes (committee markup, cloture, and confirmation) on these nominations for at least 57 days.
