The Madisonian aspect of our government is basically a TV show to keep you poorly informed about the governments real doings.

The real government is the Bureaucracy. The laws are written vague which allows regulatory and law enforcement agencies to essentially write the rules.
To give a specific example of a publicly known aspect of this:

Bump stocks were legal because one ATF regulatory agent decided they were legal under the NFA(and they were).
This isn't even getting into our powerful rogue intelligence agencies--aka the Trumanite government.
People want term limits on congressmen and senators, I do too. But they really haven't had much power since the second world war. They basically do whatever they're told to by the permanent state.

In my opinion term limits on the Bureaucracy are more important.
So basically the government of the founding fathers has simply become the face of the American Government Corporation.
