I’m no doctor, but it looks to me like lack of testing is not an inconvenience, but a death sentence.
I keep hearing #covid testing discussed in the context of relaxing social distancing. But if critical hospital workers are waiting over a week for tests... 1/7
For front line hospital workers, testing tells them whether or not they could be spreading the virus to non-covid patients or co-workers.
For hospitalized patients...
Every health care worker, besides being a precious individual with a family and community, also determines the lives of countless others...
When we get to a certain point in the curve, one fewer health worker means exponentially more deaths. So by endangering them, we endanger ourselves and countless others.
This also ties in with potential waste of PPE which can be deadly in this same exponential way...
This has to be fixed immediately. Please medical experts, tell me if I’m wrong..I hope I am. And I sure hope not a single one of the 57,000+ covid tests in CA that have been pending for over a week are a case like this.
