#AndrewYang posted an opinion piece that says to avoid #racism, it's on us Asian-Americans to show our "American-ness". I like @andrewyang2020 but he's wrong. Asians/Asian-Americans do NOT need to show their "#American-ness".
White America historically as a whole perceive us as "the other" (and still do). Asians do not need to prove anything to anyone. White America need to change their collective behavior, not us.
The #coronavirus has been weaponized to unfairly stigmatize Chinese people such as myself. Although humans discriminate upon one another, diseases don't. If there IS a duty I feel a responsibility towards, it is to protect my fellow Asians,
human of all races and the animals of this Earth. We know that 75%+ of all emerging infectious diseases the world experiences are zoonotic, meaning transmitable from contact with animals.
Animals want to be free and live but animal exploitation industries from nations all across the world cram cows, dogs, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, fishes, etc in tight spaces where they live in their own urine and feces, animal welfare laws or not.
These are perfect breeding grounds for the next pandemic like #covid19 and it will happen unless we stop it. Our priority shouldn't be to show "American-ness" or any national pride,
instead it is up to ALL of us move towards the fight of our lives by ending animal agriculture before it ends us.
