1/ You want to know the REAL PROBLEM with the shortage of PPE for hospital workers? Most of what you see on TV is utter BS. The states, federal govt, and hospital admins are gripped by an appalling lack of imagination. There is definitely a crisis, but the system is not in
2/ crisis decision making mode. They are moving to the "contingency" distribution mode. Until such time as they match decision making to the crisis phase, problems grow exponentially. Decision makers are out of phase. And of course *some* are still waiting for conventional distr.
3/ phase of distribution. Want to talk about masks? They (State, federal and hospital admins) rather put all patients and health care professionals at risk rather than EXPAND from N95 to KN95, which is a CDC suggestion even though 3M says they are functionally equivalent
4/ This one change would open up hundreds of millions of masks. No kidding. This will soon change, mark my words. Hospitals saying reuse masks, use one mask a day, withholding masks from staff who become carriers is creating a sh*t show,
5/ Contacted Cuomos people suggesting they expand to KN95 masks and they will get flooded. Told me to submit suggestion on some form. More people will die until either the CDC changes the certification standard or hospitals ignore the top down idiocy.
