AI was tested on sample website questions. We don't let computers sit @rcgp exams.

Yesterday our #COVID-19 serology task force @MGHPathology hosted a meeting with labs around the country/world to share our results and to openly share ideas about platforms, validations, policy & implementation in our institutes & communities

We were joined by nearly 100 colleagues from >15 institutions – Mayo, Yale, Penn, BI, BCH, NYU, Mt. Sinai and others with of course many critical clinical colleagues from @MGHpathology and @MGHMedicine. It’s clear there are lots of smart people working on these needed tests!
In the spirit of #openscience and working together against #COVID-19, we are sharing our early results with hopes they help others rapidly role out assays in their own hospitals. We now have 2 assays we are confident in at MGH – a Point-of-Care Test and an ELISA. 1st – the POCT:

1/ Forward of one US doctor's Covid experience. Self-proning, discharging multilobar pneumonia home, 20-30% survival rate for pts requiring intubation, it's necessary education for the rest of us that may face similar situations in a week or two.

"Clinical course is predictable.

2-11 days after exposure (day 5 on average) flu like symptoms start.
3/
Common are fever, headache, dry cough, myalgias (back pain), nausea without vomiting, abdominal discomfort with some diarrhea, loss of smell, anorexia, fatigue.
Day 5 of symptoms- increased SOB, and bilateral viral pneumonia from direct viral damage to lung parenchyma.

I’ve been trying to find out a little more...
On Sat @BBCWalesNews reported that a deal had collapsed which would have seen the Welsh Government provided with an extra 5000 #COVIDー19 tests per day by an unnamed company...
Early on I was told it involved the Swiss pharmaceutical & diagnositcs company Roche…[a claim backed up by other well-placed sources]

....the Australian pandemic plan. It’s publicly available. Ireland will have a VERY similar plan, though the names of the phases might be different. PHASE 1: Preparedness; This is when planning happens. It’s ongoing, with meetings, desktop exercises and pressure testing.....
.....PHASE 2: Standby; This phase kicks in when there’s sustained transmission overseas. When China saw the situation get bad, most countries stepped into this phase. It’s enhanced level of preparation. Lots of banal work goes on behind the scenes, from making sure local plans...

The MeTooAnthro team are collectively shocked and disturbed by the arguments put forward in the HAU ‘Short Cuts’ section of Volume 8, Issue 3, which add little to our scholarly understanding of #MeToo, or to a feminist praxis #HauTalk
Why?

Because they wholeheartedly fail to engage with either seminal writing on the topic, or on the work that has been done internationally in the last year under #metoo and #metooanthro.
But...rather than speak further about something that is under-researched and often offensive, we'd like to take this opportunity to introduce some of the brilliant work that is being done on this issue.
