Short #Thread on #RajivGandhi - #Kalaignar :
The best #government #hospital in Tamilnadu, the #GGH/#MMC was renamed after #RajivGandhi because Rajiv's body was brought there. This created heart burn among #DMK cadre because RG was despised in #DMK. (2)
One lower - level functionary wrote to @arivalayam, the party HQ, demanding renaming #Royapettah Hospital after #SilkSmita. (She was brought dead to this hospital). There was no response. Then, he got a friend to write to Chief Minister's Office. Kalaignar saw the letter. (3)
The #CMO (not Kalaignar) responded thus (paraphrasing) : If we name a place after a person who has committed suicide, it will set a wrong precedent!
(The person who wrote the first letter is still an organiser at the lower level. Kalaignar knew who wrote it too)

Reasons are being manufactured for any future in #India - collapse of #economy or #Covid19 spread:
1) It's #CoronaJihad, #Hindi news #channels have it. I'm getting same from #malayalam forwards too. No marks for guessing who's working on this
2) Supreme Court has passed some orders on how news should be carried (official version etc). Now, @PIBFactCheck has been added. Knowing what @PIB_India has been doing since time immemorial, it does not need an Einstein to figure out what this means for #media in #India
3) Advanced nations have not been able to tackle: @narendramodi himself spoke about this in #Lockdown announcement telecast. Easily refutable. Countries, whose leaders were in denial, got screwed. Others didn't. Look at how admirable Korea handled it even with lack of information

1) From what I know, no clinical guideline has gone out from the Health department. Why? Is Tamil Nadu on the same planet as Kerala?
2) Many doctors have no idea of any standard protocol in place. They are treating as they know, from experience. This is Day 3 after the closures
3) So what are the symptoms here? Does a doctor go by what he/she saw on TV? Or what WHO has put out based on some patient in China or Europe?
4) what happens if 50 ICU beds get filled up with Covid19 patients? Where will the remaining go?
