🧩 rented homes: my reading is that private landlords will be able to access the voucher scheme, but lets see. Social housing has a £50m pilot - I think this will kick off the £3.8bn Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, but let's see. (2/11) 
🧩 jobs: safe to say we want the 120,000 jobs from this to be around for more than a year. This is a big number and more will be needed - let's think how these can be folded into a #justtransition, which includes ending #fuelpoverty. (3/11)
🧩 a long-term plan to decarbonise the UK's buildings: with a key milestone to halve emissions by 2030. Spending Review, Infrastructure Strategy and Heat and Buildings Strategy now have this as a runway to set out a long-run, financed plan. The autumn has to deliver big. (4/11)
🧩 regulatory reform: whether for consumers or suppliers, regulation must converge on driving the #netzero transition forward. #carbonefficiency standards, anyone? And ban stuff that we can no longer afford to have - providing long lead-in times and support. (6/11)
🧩 governance of transition: local government and other local actors have to be folded in to delivery and supported to do so. It's the only way to get the right #netzero solutions for every place in a timely fashion - coupled with a powerful coordinator / observatory (7/11)
🧩 skills and quality: let's hope the threshold for approved contractors is high. If it's a bottleneck - don't panic and lower the threshold, invest in skills and training. There are plenty of people who will want it and need it. (8/11)
🧩 innovation: R&D is need of stimulus too. Challenge the construction industry to start building #netzero tomorrow, and to halve the cost of renovating to very low energy standards by 2025, not 2030. Pledge to match industry investment in the innovation needed. (9/11)
🧩 go digital: @GFI_green is helping to take metered energy savings to the next level. This could be a Rosetta Stone for smart integration of #energyefficiency, #heatpumps, #EV charging, #storage. Key to getting the really big investors in. [other tech is available] (10/11)
