#Thread on the Veergāthā of Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī Mahārāj

This thread will look at the events leading up to the Balidān Divas on 11 March, 1689.

#ChhatrapatiSambhajiMaharaj #MughalCruelty #Hindutva
2.
Feb 1 :- Shaikh Nizam Haidarābādi (aka Muqarrab Khan) captured Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī & Kavi Kalash. He captured them at Sangameshwar in Konkan.

Kavi Kalash was the Chaṃdogāmātya ( छंदोगामात्य ), a close adviser of Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī

The 40-day-ordeal started.
3.
Feb 15 :- Aurangzeb’s army marched from his camp at Akluj, to Bahādurgad (now renamed Dharmaveergad – Fort of Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī Maharaj).

Akluj -> Dharmaveergad: Green line
Sangameshwar -> Dharmaveergad: Saffron line
4.
Four miles outside Aurangzeb's camp at Dharmaveergad ( Pic 2 👇), Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī & Kavi Kalash were humiliated, mounted on camels, and brought to Aurangzeb’s court with drums beating and trumpets pealing.
5.
Seeing Kavi Kalash & Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī - who kept Aurangzeb busy in Deccan since long - in captivity, and brought to him in court, Aurangzeb got off the throne & knelt on the carpet before him.
6.
Observing this, the talented Kavi Kalash uttered (👇):

"As Hanuman was presented in Rāvan's court, so was Saṃbhājī Maharaj in Aurangzeb's court.

Like the vermillion-red-complexioned Hanumān, Saṃbhājī Maharaj's body was marked with blood in battles. ...
7.
...As the glow of firefly vanishes in front of the brilliance of sun, so has Aurangzeb come down to his knees seeing your brilliance"

Aurangzeb ordered to imprison both of them immediately.
8.
Feb 17: Aurangzeb sent Ruhullah Khan to get Chh. Saṃbhājī (a)to surrender all his forts, divulge all information about (b)the Swarājya’s treasury,as well as (b) Mughal accomplices who sided with him.

But, Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī refused, & vented out his sentiments on Mlechas.
9.
Hearing the reports from envoy, Aurangzeb ordered for Dharmaveer Saṃbhājī to be blinded by plucking out his eyes.

Kavi Kalash’s tongue was also ordered to be cut out!

#Mughal #cruelty
10.
The Mughal Maulavis then pronounced death sentence for Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī Maharaj & Kavi Kalash.
11.
Mar 3: Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī & Kavi Kalash were shifted to Tuḻāpūr, ~50 km west of Bahadurgad.

Tortures continued.

* Limbs of Saṃbhājī Maharaj were told to be hacked one-by-one, and their flesh to be thrown to dogs *

This went on for a week !
12.
Mar 11: Dharmaveer Saṃbhājī Maharaj & Kavi Kalash – were beheaded at Tuḻāpūr. (Pic 2 - Arch, where they were beheaded 👇)

Their heads were stuffed with straw & exhibited in nearby cities of Deccan, as ordered by Aurangzeb.
13.
Today, Tuḻāpūr is known as 'Śri Kshetra Tuḻāpūr' due to the unparalleled stoic & valiant stand for Dharma, taken by the two great men - Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī & Kavi Kalash.

Memorials at Tuḻāpūr have been built for them.
14.
The fearless manner in which Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Saṃbhājī Maharaj faced Aurangzeb, and may even have brought tears to Yamarāj’s eyes, united & steeled the hearts of Hindavi Swarajya as nothing else could have done.

A #thread on Military organisation of Maurya Empire

Maurya Empire was the largest empire ever established on Indian subcontinent. It was the most powerful empire of its time, founded by Chandragupta Maurya & his mentor Chanakya.

#MilitaryHistory #Hindutva
2.
It was very large empire, so was its military.

Mauryan army was not just large in size, but its military strategies were pretty brilliant in its time, which helped Chandragupta Maurya conquer such vast expanse of territories.
3.

Aindryābhiṣek, aka Mahābhiṣek, is done for starting a new line of Indra.

Bharata, son of Duṣyanta, himself did Aindryābhiṣek. Its procedure is given in Aitareya Brahmana (part of Rigved) ImageImageImage
3.
Previous coronations in Deccan were a mix of Vedic & Puranic rites, whereas Shivaji Maharaj intended for a purely Vedic one (Aindryābhiṣek), which hadn't been done for previous several centuries.

#ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj
2.

A #thread on busting some myths around the coronation of Shivaji Maharaj.

Coronation of Shivaji Maharaj was one of the revolutionary event of the 17th century India. Amidst all the Sultanates & Mughal Empire, a Hindu warrior crowns himself as a King!
#ShivajiMaharaj #Hindutva
2.
However, there are some myths that need to be busted. Historian Jadunath Sarkar has developed some myths about Coronation & Kshatriya Hood of Shivaji Maharaj.

He called Bhosales as Śudras & mere tillers of soil. Jadunath also says that they were "popularly known" as such.
3.
This is a ridiculous thing to claim, without any shred of evidence.

This thread will provide the evidence, showing that many people contemporary of Shivaji Maharaj knew, that he *was* a born Kshatriya.

Read on. ⏬ #mythbusting

#HindaviSwarajya #MarathiBhashaDiwas

When Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj conceptualized the idea of Hindu self rule (Hindavi Swarajya), he had it in his mind to purify & purge the Mleccha influences upon the linguistic sphere too!
2.
Chhatrapati Shivraji Maharaj directed efforts to bring about the development of indigenous language for administrative use. Farsi was replaced with a Sanskritized Marathi through the publication of Rajyavyavharkosh - राज्यव्यवहार कोश.
3.
And that sacred work of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was carried forward by Swantryaveer Savarkar, as is beautifully explained via the above pictorial representation.
