What we are trying to do is create a system wch will ensure cyber defence. We have been able to create a cyber agency within armed forces & each service has also own cyber agency, so that even if we come under a cyber attack the downtime of the attack doesn’t last long: Gen Rawat

We should be able to overcome that cyber attack and continue with our systems either through alternate means or preventive means through firewalls: Gen Rawat

While we r trying 2 create firewalls 4 cyber attacks, yet we quite sure thy wl be able to break thru firewalls n we wl hv cyber attacks. What we r trying 2 do is hw long wl ur systems b down n how wl u b able 2 operate through the phase of cyber attack that we hv bn put thru: CDS

We can overcome this (cyber threat from #China) only if we integrate the resources of the three services... The @indiannavy is far ahead of the @adgpi and @IAF_MCC in the way they have imbibed technology: CDS Gen Rawat @vifindia webinar

We may not be able to fully catch up with #China. So we are trying to develop some kind of a relationship with western nations and see how better we can get some support from them, during peace time atleast, which will help us to overcome this deficiency: #CDS Gen Rawat @vifindia

Gen Rawat on #Afghanistan: Taliban is trying to put pressure on US to say that they get what they wish to achieve. There is lot of fighting going on n both sides are losing. Security forces in Afghanistan trying to combat Taliban. But Taliban are gaining ground...

We are watching from close quarters coz we hv lot of stake in #Afghanistan. We are watching situation v carefully. Moves r being made in the right direction... We are keeping eyes & ears open. Making sure we are not out of the bandwagon n that we understand what is happening: CDS

Anything that evolves there (#Afghanistan) we will be onboard and we will make sure that our national interests are not compromised. Afghan people as such have lot of respect & regard for Indians and to that extent they too themselves would not want India to be left out: CDS

On upcoming Air Defence Cmd Gen Rawat says, Air defence commander will have operational responsibilities. He will be reporting to @IAF_MCC Chief who is part of the Chiefs of Staff Committee #CoSC. Any war fighting strategies will be decided by CoSC which has CDS as perm chairman

Even procurements of #CAPFs will soon be integrated with the armed forces. The integrated development plan being formulated will be for entire security forces and not just the armed forces, says Gen Rawat

.#CDS headed #DMA working on integrated capability development system encompassing requirements of 3 services. This will lead to the integrated capability development plan. By June-July we will have the system in place so that all services can move forward, says Gen Rawat

The second negative list of 100 items has been formulated. We will soon have over 200 items being procured domestically, says Gen Rawat
