#PeninsularCommand We are trying to figure out what all should encompass the study. Hoping we begin by year end and by end of next year we have command in place. Some assets of the Army and IAF will be under Peninsula commander based on recommendations of study: Gen Rawat #CDS

Andaman & Nicobar command will remain seperate. “We dont want to tamper with A&N now. We made a seperate triservoce cmd under IDS and let it be so. It is not stabilised yet”: Gen Rawat. Said threat to A&N is survaillance while threat to coastal India is defence. #CDS @indiannavy

Northern borders we have contiguous borders with break in Nepal. Can have 1 or 2 commands. Western front: Jammu and Kashmir should be seperate. Balance of Western theatre is another command. Total 2-5 theatres. Let study team say best way forward: Gen Rawat #CDS #TheatreCommand

#CDS Gen Rawat on prioritization of procurements: I feel you should never go in for large no.s in one go. When buying equipment Services should also look at equipment downtime.
One way is to order in one go n stagger deliveries. Other is to split the order

@IAF_MCC 114 fighter deal: Gen Rawat said it has to staggered.

@indiannavy’s 3rd aircraft carrier: IAC-1 will be out soon. Lets see its performance. Even if we order one today it wont be before 2030.
We hv good island territories. Should upgrade runways on them.
