Pakistan’s🇵🇰 fate at the #FATF will be under the scanner this week, as the global financing watchdog is holding its plenary session begins on Monday.

Decision will be made on whether Islamabad stays on the grey list or gets out of it.

#IndiaNarrative
“Under the German Presidency of Dr Marcus Pleyer, delegates representing 205 members of the Global Network and observer organisations will take part in the virtual meeting of the FATF Plenary,” FATF said in a statement on Monday.
The outcome will be announced on June 25. During five days, they will discuss key issues to strengthen global action against financial flows that fuel crime and terrorism, the FATF stated.
Pakistan was put on the grey list by the Paris-based FATF in June 2018, and the country has been struggling to come out of it.
The FATF will finalise key reports, including on money laundering & environmental crime, ethnically and racially motivated terrorist financing.

FATF succumbs to Chinese 🇨🇳 pressure and so doesn't blacklist Pakistan

Pakistan 🇵🇰 adopts the tactic of showcasing strict action against terror financing and terror organisations are continuing to function freely in the country

Pak has been using its established and active money laundering networks in Africa and Europe not only for ordinary Pakistanis sending remittances, but also for terror groups and the Pakistani intelligence to fund their activities abroad.
The UK has put Pakistan on its high risk list of countries due to its money laundering and terror financing activities, since the money laundered through these networks is used to fund criminal activities.
