Actually @rwjdingwall there are many choices along the way to #HerdImmunity

1) How many deaths & ppl w/ long term debilitating illness we allow as collateral damage?

2) How much we are prepared to invest in the health/safety of school children & the general working public?🧵

3) How much we are prepared to invest in adequate public health services & how clear/informative the vital messaging should be?

4) How much we value the lives of ALL UK citizens whether they’re young, old, poor, of BAME origin, disabled, living in deprived areas/on low incomes?

5) How much individuals are prepared to tolerate for the good of communities & how patient they are able to be?

6) How much we wish to work collectively to protect others by continuing to #WearAMask, get a vaccine etc rather than demanding “#Freedom”.

SO MANY CHOICES…& MORE!

Wealth & privilege are hugely protective factors against catching #coronavirus & the worst outcomes of #Covid_19.

And “Living w/ #COVID” will mean v different things depending on where you live, work, house/household size & on any chronic ill health you already have etc…

So if you can easily work from home, live in a spacious home w/ few others, have a garden to relax/exercise in, don’t use public transport, have no chronic ill health, can afford healthy nutritious food etc ….your “chances” of successfully avoiding the worst of #COVID are high.

The repeated failure of commentators like yourself to understand these issues or factor them in to “how we reach #HerdImmunity” has been/remains disingenuous, callous & deeply shocking.

Many ppl have few such choices or privileges!

Simplistic & dismissive comments like “we are all going to die one day” & ignorant suggestions that #LongCovid is psychosomatic are incredibly insensitive to any one affected & should not be coming from the lips of someone who has direct power to influence #Covid_19 gvmt policy.

Comments & policy should reflect the vast range of choices & lived experiences that the British public actually have, rather than focusing on a #LivingWithCovid #GreatBarringtonDeclaration “survival of the fittest” policy which is so brutal AND unscientific.
