Don't overspecialize.
It will make you overdependent on other people.
Always be a #generalist.
The problem with doing a #PhD degree is that it makes you highly specialized in a minuscule area of academic interest.
Utter rubbish!
Sheer waste of time, financial resources and cognitive capabilities.
Many people who are struggling to find decent work after Postgraduate Qualification, such as MSc/MA/MBA, end up enrolling on a #PhD Degree program.
How bloody melancholic that is!?
Seen many such cases in Life and Hard Sciences.
Never do a #PhD with your own money, unless you are a sheikh from an oil-rich desert kingdom.
It is a high-risk venture, which many students don't understand.
Most of the students enrolled end up losing their way halfway through the program.
The rule of thumb is that if you cannot get through with your supervisor during the first 2 and 1/2 years, you won't afterwards.
PhD, which takes around three years in the UK, is slightly easier compared to its American or Canada Counterparts
At least, goes easy on the coursework
The era of massive specialization is over.
That is my opinion.
Many skilled trades evolved, paid back on investments, and later phased out over time.
Those who don't diversify their skill sets know what I am saying.
#Computing students who stick to just one programming language?
#Diversification is the opposite of #specialization.
Manage your academic and professional skill set portfolio well, by learning a little of everything to stay in the right tail of the labour market.

Starting a human or machine-based process late and finishing it quickly is also a sign of labour or robotic #efficiency, which is not taken into account by organizational #productivity specialists.
Doing things correctly matters without wasting time

Arriving at 9 in the morning at the office and staying late beyond designated working hours is the worst kind of employee #attitude, which should be rebuked by the #HR Dept.
Why do some people stay late at work, anyway?
Spying? or other motives?
Surprisingly, I have come across some night shift workers who do fewer hours and are at times far better at producing results compared to daylight sleepy heads.
More organizational studies are required to check employee motivation, productivity and time-task assignment management

Gifts cannot be priced.
#Governments that offer #dole as part of the economic programs are akin to such gifts.
By adding a price ticket to every incentive awarded as a gift, a lot of waste can be screened and saved.
Leads to better management of public financial resources!
This principle of the national minimum is a political economic gift that can bankrupt a sovereign nation and completely distort its national psyche and narrative.
Most of the welfare capitalist countries are suffering from its accentuated curse since the end of World War 2.

#Callaghan at the 1976 Labour Conference, taunting socialism.
How ironic!!

Negative events will lead to negative outcomes :

#Great #Depression -> #Keynesian Economics
#Chinese Cultural Revolution -> Gang of Four

That is how to interpret history.
Anticipating #tippingpoint is the most essential thing a gifted leader has to his credit.
All non-linear events should be studied carefully by applying #physics in social sciences, such as #Chaos #Theory and Law of #Thermodynamics.

How would I rate #, Harold MacMillan, as the PM of the UK?
Excellent sense of humour.
An eloquent speaker!
#Détente between the East and the West became possible due to #Macmillan’s diplomacy and energetic role in international politics.
He was probably a gifted International Relations Practitioner who had an exceptional understanding of issues around the world.
He was remarkably the first to predict an International crisis in the Gulf back in the 1960s after #Kuwait was given independence with a special status.

Many students ask me about SCM/Logistics Degree programs.
Go to any top business school at an Ivy League university.

Alternatively, you may choose to find some decent department of Economics that has a strong partnership with other faculties, such as Operations Research, Industrial or Transportation Engineering.
Many Transportation Economists also enter into SCM/Logistics or Inventory management using their knowledge of network models and game theory, etc.
