NEW: US intelligence experts examining #HavanaSyndrome say the only plausible explanation for a small number of cases is a device or a weapon of some kind
“Pulsed electromagnetic energy, particularly in the radiofrequency range, plausibly explains the core characteristics" according to a new report on #HavanaSyndrome, released Wednesday
“Sources exist that could generate the required stimulus, are concealable, & have moderate power requirements" per the US intel report “Using nonstandard … antennas & techniques, the signals could be propagated w/low loss through air for tens to hundreds of meters..."
As for a device or weapon, “There are a small number of the cases we looked at that had no other plausible mechanism" per a US intel official familiar w/the expert panel's work
A 2nd intelligence official said the idea some #HavanaSyndrome cases were cause by a device or weapon is "“more than a theory" even though "We don't have a specific device..."
The 2nd official pointed to other evidence...

The new US intelligence experts panel report also says some #HavanaSyndrome cases could have been cause by a device using ultrasound technology IF the device was employed in close proximity to the victim

MORE: And interim @CIA report on #HavanaSyndrome last month found a majority of the cases “can be reasonably explained by medical conditions or environmental and technical factors" BUT that "We have not ruled out the involvement of a foreign actor”
