Keeping it simple, why are subnets a game changer, not only for #AVALANCHE but for every #Cryptocurrency future and present.

2/ This morning I thought about Roger Bannister, the man who broke the “4-minute mile” in 1954.

No person in history believed a human being could run a mile under 4:00.0.

Yet at age 25, Roger opened up the floodgates for more than 1,400 athletes.

Each one successively improves on his time.

There are moments in history where a “Change Agent” comes into play.

Completely overhauling how we do business, see the world, and interact with each other.

4/ Based devs over at @avalabsofficial have introduced #Subnets, a major improvement to horizontally scale $AVAX.

In this thread I won’t go over everything, please listen to this episode of @SubnetShow to receive specifics.

5/ Basically, a subnet:
1.Scales horizontally.
2. Allows creators easy tools to build on $AVAX.

We’ll be exploring just these two topics in this thread.

Q: What actually is a subnet?
A: Subnets are dedicated virtual blockchains.

6/ Primarily, we all use the C-Chain. This is where all EVM based DAPPs are built on.

From @traderjoe_xyz all the way to @chikn_nft.

#NFTs, #DeFi, Gaming, all hosted on this singular C-Chain.

7/ Now everyone here knows, if a trendy #NFT project is #minting, the gas fees across the C-Chain becomes expensive.😖

This is because we are all on the same chain.

With subnets, we can allow #NFTs on their own subnet, unlimited for every other sector here as well.

8/ Now the magic 🎩 is just beginning.

Not only can we allow SINGLE #Dapps their own subnet, but we can also allow ENTIRE blockchains their own subnet as well.

This is where the excitement kicks in hehe.

Everyone is familiar with #Solana, #Cardano, #Cosmos, and #Luna.

10/ Great chains with their own chads and ecosystems.

$AVAX has built easy tools for these #blockchains to port over their entire network, DAPPs, NFT’s and ecosystems.

Within their own subnets, hosted on #AVALANCHE.

Let's say #Bitcoin wanted to have the same transaction speed ⚡️ as $AVAX.

(Processing over 4,500 transactions per second!)
Then they could literally launch the ENTIRE #BTC network on $AVAX without any hiccups.

This is the power of subnets.

12/ Remember we talked about horizontal scaling?

There is an infinite number of subnets, available for developers of every chain to build on.

Name a blockchain. Yes! Even that chain could be ported to $AVAX depending on the developer's willingness to build here.

13/ This is a billion-dollar opportunity for every blockchain who reached success. As they can duplicate their achievement on $AVAX.

Imagine all your favorite #Ethereum DAPPs over on $AVAX with our low gas fees.

This grassroots effort can blossom into a forest with more devs.

14/ To grasp the magnitude of $AVAX, examine at the value added from @avalabsofficial to the entire metaverse.

I thought $AVAX was just another $ETH competitor but now I understand this is the web, connecting all $ETH competitors.
