#PutinsWar enters Day 148.
21 July: anniversary of man first walking on the moon and in exactly four months the opening match of the World Cup in Qatar will be about to kick off.
But this is the daily thread on #Russia's war in #Ukraine, updated real time so please read & share.

It's a depressing start to the day, with many attacks, shelling and deaths in #Ukraine.
Among the places worst hit - again - is #Kharkiv. The reign of terror continues by the invaders. Two died and 19 injured so far after attacks on residents.
Officials in #Kharkiv are still concealing the exact location of #Russia's strikes. However, one of the most populated areas was hit with #Ukraine alleging The Kremlin targeted transport stops and residential streets.
They also say they found evidence of cluster bombs:
1/2 Earlier in the night, more big explosions hit #Mykolaiv in the south of #Ukraine. It's the third successive night #Nikolaev was targeted
Mayor Vitaliy Kim says two missiles hit a humanitarian aid centre with "thousands of tonnes of food" destroyed.
2/2 Large fires broke out in 3 places where shelling happened in #Mykolaiv (RU: #Nikolaev)
This is what remains of the aid centre.
Meanwhile Mayor Kim has said 96 people in the region have named possible traitors supplying information to #Russia.
Also at night occupied #Melitopol looks to have been hit. #Russia is staying quiet about this, so quite possibly another HIMARS hit on something valuable.
And here's the second video after this morning's destruction of #Kharkiv by #Russia.
The north eastern city near the border has been mercilessly attacked for weeks now. It's pure terrorism to try to break the resolve of #Ukraine's people
I've often written about #Holodomor - the deliberate starvation of #Ukraine in the 1930s - as evidence grows that history lover Putler is trying to recreate the genocide
The Head of #KryvyiRih reports a Russian tank fired on harvesters in a field
Here is #Ukraine's daily estimate of #Russia's losses in the unprovoked war.
My projection that the number of dead regular army soldiers would reach 40,000 at the turn of this month is still on course.
In addition there could be up to 15,000 mercenaries according to #Kyiv.
A week ago today #Russia launched one of its most disgusting attacks, as residential area of #Vinnytsia was decimated by cruise missiles.
The death toll has this morning risen to 26 as 20-year-old Olga Lysenko, who suffered 98% burns, lost her fight for survival.
1/2 If you watched the recent documentaries I've made about #Dnipro - corruption and possible links to #Russia (see pinned tweet), you may have heard the name Hennady Korbán.
He & US-sanctioned Ihor Kolomoiskyi may both have Ukrainian citizenship revoked by #Ukraine's President.
2/2
Media report law enforcement agencies recommend removing passports for several high profile Ukrainians.
What is interesting is that Kolomoiskyi catapulted Zelenskyy to fame when his channel bought and aired "Servant of the People" TV series
On Saturday #Russia hit #Odesa with a series of missile strikes.
The Kremlin's Defence Ministry has now announced that 'updated data' show they "killed more than 600 military personnel, including up to 120 foreign mercenaries" at the Aerospace Forces in #Odessa region.
On top of the previous tweet, #Russia also says 320 "nationalists" were killed in #Mykolaiv by air strikes the day after the attack on #Odesa.
The figures are just preposterous. After some early heavy losses by #Ukraine, orders were made not to gather military in large numbers.
#Bakhmut's central market has been levelled this morning.
The attack by #Russia on the frontline town led to fires stretching over 100m. Despite the fact most residents evacuated Bakhmut there may still be injuries, details not yet confirmed.
As promised yesterday, here's the link for tomorrow's online event with The @Independent

#Hungary's Prime Minister went to Moscow today.
Péter Szijártó bizarrely claimed he was there for two reasons 1) to ask for peace
and then proceeded to give more money to the Kremlin Killing Machine by 2) asking for more gas from #Russia
The Head of British Intel says Putin has suffered an “epic fail” in Ukraine.
Richard Moore, the MI6 chief said the war was “obviously not over” but the invaders may be starting “to run out of steam”, pointing to problems supplying new equipment + troops
#Ukraine's command in the south reports highly successful air force raids on the invaders.
Planes made 5 strikes, and pairs of helicopter 3.
Five Russian strongholds + 2 ammo stores were hit in #Skadovsk & #Beryslavs in #Kherson region, plus enemy personnel in #Mykolaiv oblast.
Following up on the previous tweet, the Head of #Odesa, Serhiy Bratchuk posted this map showing where the biggest attacks on Russians happened:
Wednesday. Day 1302 of the illegal war started by Russia.

Yesterday an astonishing report from Yale showing Russia forcing kidnapped kids to work in drone factories, how Croatia may have embarrassed the Putin/ Hungary/Slovakia axis.

Day 1301 of Ukraine fighting for its survival. The right to be free, speak their own language, worship in their own churches, to learn their own history.
A history of long suppression by Russia.
As war crimes grow daily, the words "never again" don't seem to apply.
Here's the🧵
Yesterday began, and ended, with Russia attacking Zaporizhzhia, injuring civilians.
Also, the head of the IAEA disgraced himself in Russia's arms, changes of 🇺🇦army leadership, and how a Russian guy was a Putin opponent, until 3 mins after being elected.
Day 1300 of Putin's war.
Another 100 days of fighting completed.
We are no nearer peace than we were 100 days ago.
Almost 200 days ago Trump demanded a 30-day unconditional ceasefire.
Not surprising as he started it, it's always Putin stopping peace.
Here's Monday's daily🧵

It was a day when Ukraine had to quickly repair a main railway line after a massive explosion, but they also managed to make multiple hits on Russia's rail and oil industries
Hello on Day 1298 of Russia's full invasion of its sovereign neighbour. So, only 1295 days late in fulfilling the boast of taking Kyiv in 3 days. #EATP for Putin.
I've compiled a🧵every single day without fail.
You can help my work with a boost, comment, re-post or a coffee🙏
Friday saw more important visitors arrive in Kyiv (and another familiar place is in Ukraine today).
There was more solidarity and practical support, while Russia suffered more oil woes.
I'll start in Odesa, because that's where the familiar face has turned up.
He was planning to return to Ukraine a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't make it, but now Boris is back.
Loved by nearly all Ukrainians, his early arrival (with Lord Ashcroft) meant he avoids the crowds.
Day 1297 of Russia's imperialist war, but the senior bully keeps being given a bloody nose by the junior school kid next door. How embarrassing for the "world's second greatest army" and more 'punches' thrown by Ukraine overnight..
There was so much in yesterday's thread.
Russia hitting churches, Ukraine striking a boat.
The US helping Belarus, which helps🇷🇺 & Trump questioning if the drone attack on Poland was a mistake.
Thursday ended with a Ukraine drone surge into Russia:
