Backstory

* @yawn_rong & @Jerry10240 wanted to build a game around #Satoshi
* He died on Earth, shattered in pieces. People had to walk to collect shards/pieces of him.
* That’s why there’re gems in the game.
* But if you have a storyline, you need to stick to the storyline.

3/

* All in all, they cut the whole thing but they kept the token name (Green Satoshi Token & Green Metaverse Token)
* @Jerry10240 & @yawn_rong cycled through some names (Drystack?, Stride etc)
* Focus on global warming

4/

Should the focus be on graphics?

* Decided to focus more on mechanics, gameplay, tokenomics & math behind the app.
* If team would go with hand drawn sneakers, it couldn’t be automated. Eventually they came to the colour patching solution.
* First compromise that was made.

5/

GPS issues

* Team didn't want to take the shortcut
* Lots of accuracy issues for about 3 months
* Perhaps approach @Strava developers to work out what’s going on. Pretty hard
* Wanted to build something people can rely on

Marketing

* @yawn_rong graduated with marketing degree
* Lots of issues in the earlier stages
* Everything became very expensive due to their launch at the end of bull cycle
* Video with a monkey (never released)
* Had to learn #Twitter
* #Discord quiz to increase engagement

Hackathon winners

* #Solana grants (first working capital)
* Hired "Social Media Expert" -> Total disaster
- @yawn_rong questions if person ever was on conferences (no evidence)
- Person kept using #STEPN credit card afterwards

Surgery & Hype

* @yawn_rong had surgery in the earlier stages of #STEPN (lying in bed when having calls with VCs etc)
* Tried to slow down hype with events such as double minting (#GST kept climbing)
* J & Y got depressed after #GST price crash
* @Mable_Jiang stepped in

Partnership @atletienglish & @WhaleFinApp

* 1,001 hand drawn sneakers with particular year & meaning behind the sneakers
* Holders of the NFT have a chance to get a ticket to watch the match live
* Critique that Ape sneaker & Atletico sneakers were poorly designed

Why simple & basic design?

* Done for a particular reason: To showcase the difference between common & higher quality sneakers
* Next batch of sneakers are all hand drawn and will take a while to be released
* Will be released batch by batch & but will be announced first

Hong Kong

* Expansion (not moving) abroad
* Team attended conference in Cyber Port (government owned incubator in Hong Kong). They target fin tech or anything to do with innovation.
* Being a resident there will give many advantages.
* @animocabrands also in Cyber Port

#GMT earnings

* Started working on it weeks ago
* Team will take extra time to do extra quality checks & rollouts
* Working on #GMT earnings & rainbow sneakers concurrently
* On track on development side. Burning side (less than 3%)
* Lots of QA (Quality Assurance) needed

* For the official rollout, team will need to do various server reboots & updates
* Now going through quality checks. Only when the person doing the checks is satisfied, they’ll move on.
* Will need to wait for @Apple & @Google
* Release date announcement will come first.

#EthereumMerge

* Don't worry about your spendings account (it's not on chain).
* Team mentions that it might be smart to wait with #DOOAR or other on-chain transactions until it's clear that the merge succeeded.

This was a strange Townhall (my thoughts in a different post).
