It's seven months ago today that #Russia started its illegal full invasion of #Ukraine.

The "short special military operation" started in winter, and is now in its fourth season. The killing continues.

Here's the daily news thread for Saturday 24 Sept

Let's start Day 213 with #Russia's total losses after 7 months. On average 264 soldiers are being killed every day. The ratio between deaths and injured/disabled means if #Ukraine's estimates are correct likely 200,000 have been lost to the military

the morning update from the #UK's intelligence concentrates on #Russia's dambuster tactics!

Kudos to Stuart Ramsay - back reporting on the frontline in #Ukraine after being shot in the early days of the war.

I'll forgive some of the pronunciations here because the report is a damn good, apparently exclusive, view into life on the southern axis.

Next a video showing the work done by #Ukraine's incredible emergency services.

This was from the attacks on #Zaporizhzhia, where one civilian was killed and 7 were injured by #Russia's missile strike on this apartment block.

#RussiaIsATerroristState #RussiansGoHome
Also in #Zaporizhzhia oblast, cctv caught the moment one of #Russia's kamikaze Iranian made drones struck.

As I reported blast night, the Iranian ambassador to #Ukraine is being expelled.

I am now prepared to back stories some media in #Russia and #Ukraine have been reporting that the Kremlin is trying to conscript over a million new recruits through #mobilisation.

Russia promised 300,000 and even that seemed high. This was clearly possible through reservists
2/2

Seeing the volume of recruits in some places plus many witness testimony videos of young men swearing they've never had any military connection shows #Putin was lying about "partial #mobilisation"

We can also see many over 50s forcibly drafted. No wonder men flee #Russia.
Freed Briton Aiden Aslin @cossackgundi has posted his first video since returning to the UK.

He was among 5 Brits and 10 foreigners freed in the Prisoner exchange deal (in which Bloomberg says Roman Abramovich was the middleman)

Aiden asks us to remember those still in 🇷🇺jails
I've just checked the situation at #Russia-#Finland border. Things seem calm - almost normal now.

Chat sites say on average about an hour to cross.
Last night Finland tightened entry regs.

New footage of the #Antonivskyi (#RU Antonovsky) bridge in occupied #Kherson.

Clearly not repairable in a short time. No sign of the pontoon bridge unless this video was shot from there.

Still big queues at #Russia's border with #Georgia.
Considering my research proves not many call-ups from St Petersburg/Moscow, not surprising it's much busier than the Finnish border.

An horrific tale from a woman who says she is traumatised in #Ukraine.

The only way this nightmare ends and doesn't return in a few years is to defeat Putin. Please support #Ukraine and its soldiers so we can stop the nightmares and treat those with PTSD

Some protests are taking place again in #Russia against #mobilisation. However, numbers are lower than on the day Putin announced the plans

In #Irkutsk already mass arrests, including girls and women, as in this video. Also plenty of "Titushki" - local thugs paid to help police
Safe to say that police outnumber protesters at many of the proposed rallies today. Virtually as soon as a protester is seen, the uniforms move in.

The "voting" has continued today in the four temporarily, partially occupied regions. But in #Donetsk and #Zaporizhzhia regions explosions were reported.

#Mariupol' had two blasts according to mayoral adviser Petro Andryushchenko while there was also an explosion in #Berdyansk.
In #Russia the President's address will be this coming Friday. It's likely then the official announcement of the annexation of the 4 regions of #Ukraine into the RU Federation.

There are rumours Putin may also introduce Martial Law, especially in view of today's protests.
Reports of a few skirmishes between new conscripts and police today.

Reuters published this photo after locals in #Omsk said fighting broke out.

It's alleged the mobilised men demanded the police "come and die with them in the trenches."

#StopRussia #StandWithUkraine
730 people were arrested during anti-mobilisation protests in #Russia today.

Among them was this elderly woman. No respect for age or liberty.

Is Europe listening?
Will USA donate ATACMS?

#Ukraine says the foreign observers for the fake referenda are from 8 countries as well as #Russia.

Belarus, Syria, Egypt, Brazil, Venezuela, Uruguay, Togo, South Africa have representatives present in the occupied regions.

They may be attending in a private capacity.
#Zaporizhzhia is under attack again. Six blasts recorded so far.

#Russia has fired S-300 anti aircraft missiles again.
They were launched from near Tokmak.
No news yet on damage/casualties.

It's Monday and I hope it's the start of a good week for you.

This is the daily thread number 215 with all the news from #Russia's war on #Ukraine

Now anyone who gives over £200 will receive a personal message of thanks from🇺🇦 soldiers on the frontline.

crowdfunder.co.uk/p/save-ukraine…
Just to clarify, if you have already made a pledge, you are still eligible. So if you gave £100, we need £101 more, or if you donated £200, just an extra £1 will do it, but feel free to give more if you can afford it.

Help #Ukraine defend itself and defend democracy!
If you missed anything on Sunday, here's the start of yesterday's thread.

I was on the road most of yesterday and posted a lot in the evening.

Sunday 25 September, Day 214 of #Russia's war of choice. Imagine a leader choosing to send over 50,000 of his countrymen to death and calling up another million, against a peaceful nation which never fired on, nor invaded anyone!

Here is the daily news thread

#StandWithUkraine
Sunday started with a bang in #Kherson.

More on that in a moment, but Saturday was a quiet one, thankfully. If you want to scroll back through, here's the thread:

#StopRussia #SaveUkraine

It's believed #Ukraine has killed another collaborator in #Kherson.

Former Deputy of National Affairs Oleksiy Zhuravko is one of the victims after missiles destroyed this hotel populated by Russians. He was twice an MP in Ukraine before moving to Russia in 2014.

Almost the weekend, this is Friday's daily thread with all the news, views + analysis as #Russia attacks #Ukraine

It's Day 212 of the war

There's an update to the Ukraine fundraiser. We hope to get one of these alongside the winter clothing. If you can help, see my pinned tweet Image
As usual a link to yesterday's thread as a few of you tell me you like to check up on the news in one place.

Another fairly quiet day in terms of attacks and missiles, although just before Thursday ended, #Zaporizhzhia suffered a bad attack:

#Mobilization is still the big talking point in #Russia

This is a scene from #Makhachkala in the republic of #Dagestan. A big convoy of fresh convicts, sorry conscripts.

Welcome to Thursday's daily thread on #Russia's war.
It's Day 211 of non stop shelling and killing.

#Ukraine needs your help, if you can spare anything, please consider donating to our Fundraiser as we're falling behind the target

Wednesday was remarkable.

From pathetic Putin's ramblings/partial mobilisation, to the street protests in #Russia, to the prisoner swap deal which saw all 5 Britons released, ending with Zelenskyy's focused and powerful, history-making speech at the #UN

Last night there were big queues at #Russia's southern border with #Georgia.

Presumably men trying to flee before they receive the dreaded call-up to fight in #Ukraine.

Yesterday there were reportedly long queues at the Finnish border and flight tickets selling out.

We've reached Day 210 of #Russia's 3 day plan to topple #Kyiv.
#Ukraine fights on.

If you want to scroll through yesterday's news, it's here:

#StandWithUkraine

The important thing to say is that President Putin is making his delayed (recorded) speech now about the future of the illegal war
Putin announced only a partial mobilisation, which is what I suspected.

So anyone who's on the reserve will be called up due to #Russia's shortage of cannon fodder.

Tuesday 20 September - Day 209 of the illegal war being waged by #Russia, welcome to the daily thread.

#Ukraine is fighting for democracy, for its very survival. Our fundraiser is at 18% of target - a good start. Photos added of what we will be buying.

Many interesting stories late on Monday's thread

⚡️#Russia's soldiers sexually assaulted a 4 year old child.
⚡️🇷🇺embassy in Canada firebombed
⚡️Big (suspicious) fire in 🇷🇺 city
⚡️Employees forced to "donate" over 40% of their weekly wage to Russia's war

Here's a risky investment for Russians.

How about booking a New Year's Eve party at the #Kerch (Crimea) bridge?
New cruises being launched from next week.

Well, guess they like fireworks on 31 December. Why not try a #HIMARS light show experience?
