This is the daily news thread covering all the important bits of the conflict in one handy 🧵
If you like my work, and can afford to buy me a coffee, please see my profile.
Starting in traditional way with a chance for you to check back through yesterday, in case you missed Orban's undiplomatic words about #Ukraine, the latest big blaze in the series #RussiaOnFire or anything else during Friday.
Speaking about Orbán's stupid remarks, he's not alone in the region with #Russia also having culivated useful political idiots in #Croatia#Slovakia + #Czechia
Hopefully an election in 🇨🇿 today will sideline one more (Babiš) as @motytchak explains here:
The total of dead Russian soldiers* passes the 125,000 mark today. Another 800 sacrifices - though #Ukraine is also suffering heavy losses in the east.
A lot of equipment destroyed in the last 24 hours too, including two more of #Russia's aircraft.
#BakhmutHolds but the intensity of #Russia's attacks is getting worse and worse.
This video is said to be from #Bakhmut this morning. The time stamp, weather and lighting check out. I cannot verify more than that, but I suspect it's genuine and within the last few days.
No shelling in #Dnipropetrovsk overnight, which is a welcome change.
But free #Kherson is still being hit.
The local authority says there were 19 attacks by #Russia.
Two people were killed and seven civilians injured.
Two more people were injured when #Russia's rockets hit more civilian targets. Apartment blocks, a hotel, garages and cars were all damaged in the town in the free part of #Donetsk region.
The strike reportedly happened in #Novoaidar roughly 40km east of #Lysychansk and about 60km north of #Luhansk city.
They claim 14 patients and medics were killed, 24 injured.
If #Ukraine has hit a working hospital it's a war crime.
But let me give a timeline:
Occupiers in #Luhansk say the attack was at 07:30 today
13:10 Russians report "shelling" in #Novoaidar - no mention of #HIMARS or a hospital.

The founder of the illegal mercenary group, Wagner, says they've captured another village near #Bakhmut.
Yevgeniy Prigozhin's Telegram channel claims they now control (RU: #Blagodatnoye)
It's just along the T0513 road from #Soledar and will now increase pressure on Krasna Hora.
Cheers Marc for your kind words and donation to the coffee fund. Very appreciated on both counts.

The Occupiers claim Ukraine "launched two strikes on Ilovaisk from the MLRS in 10 minutes, firing a total of seven missiles."
This presumably was the moment one hit.
#Ilovaisk is an important transport hub, so this strike, if confirmed, is much more likely than the supposed hit on a public hospital Russia reported earlier.
The town in Donetsk is also etched in all #Ukraine's memory as the site of a "humanitarian corridor" massacre in 2014.
Looks like a concerted attack on #Donetsk region by #Ukraine once the curfew was underway.
Just north of #Ilovaisk in the Occupied territory is #Khartsyzk where this is visible.
Every Single Day.
Ukraine's brave men and women on (or supporting) the frontline cannot switch off, so neither shall I in documenting the major events of Russia's horrific war.
As we begin a new week, it's the 1,321st Daily Thread - never missed one yet. So let's dive-in..
Well it's been lively overnight in Russia, with many reports of Ukraine's drones causing problems.
You can see photos and video from those reports at the end of yesterday's thread, which began with more daytime strikes by Moscow's war criminals...
Tuesday 30 September 2025 - it's Day 1315 of Russia's full invasion. That's 3 years, 7 months and one week of Ukraine trying to defend itself against an infinitely bigger army.
But Ukrainians have a just cause and the sum is much bigger than the parts.
Here's the daily thread:
A shorter thread yesterday, with not a lot of ground-breaking news. But still more than 30 posts, you may like to catch up on, such as Russia's moaning about its election interference in Moldova coming to nothing!
Hello again everybody. Are we ready for Day 1311 of Ukraine's defence against the all-out invasion by a Kremlin horde? I know I am, so let's go.
Documenting all the important news, and Russian war crimes, every single day - still never missed one - this is THE daily thread:
You can almost smell the weekend approaching, but first let's look back at Thursday.
Another wide variety of stories, and what a contrast. Almost record numbers of likes on BSky yet way below par number of views here on X.
Review what you missed here:
Good morning on Day 1310 of the full-scale war in Ukraine. But let's not forget Russia first invaded 11.5 years ago and the free world was too timid to defend a democracy from a tyrant, which led us to this position now after far too many wasted lives (and $)
Here's my daily🧵
Wednesday was another busy-busy day.
Too much to detail, just make sure you are up to date, but clicking and scrolling here, but remember to come back.
Russia has managed to attack railway infrastructure and some power targets overnight.
The latest is in Kirovohrad region, where 3 villages are without power after drone strikes. The city of Oleksandriya in the east of the region was heavily attacked.
There were no casualties.
It's taken an incredible effort to maintain Ukraine's independence this long, but we still need to keep pressure up and keep aid flowing.
It's a marathon effort to research & post the news, please support🙏 ko-fi.com/twmcltd
Friday's thread had the first half of Russia's attack - before that we saw Ukraine's partners tightening sanctions, and Putin sending planes in to NATO territory to lead to another Article 4 discussion.
Loads more news too, catch up here if you missed it
