The start of meteorological summer. It's also the start of the 17th month which has seen war in #Ukraine.
It's Day 463 of #Russia's illegal war and Thursday is another day which has started with murder in #Kyiv.

All the important news and analysis in one thread, starts here:
First, a quick reminder that you can access all yesterday's developments in #Ukraine in this link to the start of Wednesday's thread⬇️

Thanks to all my followers, boosters, story suggesters and financial supporters (see my profile for the link)

1/ Attack on #Kyiv

The first day of summer is Children's Day in #Ukraine. Yesterday schools closed for the summer.
In the first few hours of this special day, an 11 year old child was killed, murdered by #Russia's missiles, along with two adults in their 30s.

#StopRussia ImageImage
2/

10 Iskander missiles were fired by #Russia. The local authorities say all 10 were shot down with the falling debris caused the destruction.

While air defence is significantly improved in #Kyiv, it's not perfect and some will rightly question the 100% record.

#StopRussiaNOW ImageImage
3/

The child who died in this morning's Terrorist Attack in #Kyiv was a 9 year old girl.

She was one of three killed in the Desnyan district of #Ukraine's capital, along with two women in their 30s. Ten other people were injured here including another child.

#StandWithUkraine
4/

Elsewhere in #Kyiv, two people were also wounded in the Dnipro area of the city.

An ordinary building was almost completely destroyed by a falling missile.

#RussiaIsATerroristState #SaveUkraine ImageImage
5/

#Kyiv's Mayor, @Vitaliy_Klychko spoke live to @SkyNews just over an hour ago, saying "everyone in #Ukraine is a target for #Russia" adding "Putin needs Ukraine without Ukrainians"

#RussiaIsATerroristState Image
6/

By the way, I agree with this cheeky message which made its way on to British TV screens during this morning's interview with Vitaliy Klitschko (Klychko)

"WE NEED F-16"

#StandWithUkraine #RussiaIsATerroristState Image
7/

There is a huge scandal around the three deaths in #Kyiv today though, with some saying they died on the street because a shelter in #Desnyan was locked.

Two of the vicitms were a mother and daughter. The other woman to die was married to Yaroslav, who revealed the tragedy: ImageImageImage
8/

A security guard at the polyclinic in #Kyiv where the shelter was allegedly shut, has reportedly been arrested for being drunk. Others say the shelter was open.

@Vitaliy_Klychko has called for a full investigation but it's not possible right now as doors were ripped off. ImageImage
All photos in today's thread have the credit in the watermark or video, with the exception of some from social media and the Telegram Channel 'kyivoperativ'

Before I forget, here are the daily numbers from #Ukraine.

#Russia's war dead tops 208,000 and the figures for artillery systems and 'special equipment' remain above the daily mean.

#RussiansGoHome Image
My grateful thanks today to Michael G and @debshagrave for your donations to my coffee fund.

Destruction elsewhere in #Ukraine too of course.

Two men in their 50s were injured in the beleagured town of #Nikopol, which has suffered shelling almost every day for the past year.

Today a 5-storey building, a private house, a power line and a gas pipeline were damaged. ImageImage
In response to the "locked shelter" scandals in recent days, @Vitaliy_Klychko has said police and security patrols will have to check to ensure all facilities are open when air raid warnings sound.

However, today there were just minutes between the alarm and missiles landing.
#Ukraine's President #Zelenskyy arrived in #Moldova this morning, met by President @sandumaiamd.

Chisinau is hosting the European Political Community Summit. The air space over Moldova and the rail network has been temporarily shut as a security move. Image
Must just squeeze in the British Intel update, which is interesting today.

A reminder that a few people in #Russia are now daring to speak out and just occasionally they are allowed to appear on TV screens, which has been the Kremlin's biggest brain washing device for decades. Image
Meanwhile anti-Putin partisan group "Legion of Free Russia" has made another statement saying "very soon we will again advance into the territory of #Russia to bring freedom.
"This is only the beginning... so the blue-white flag of freedom will be raised in #Moscow."
The "Freedom of Russia" Legion also published this video showing what they claim is destruction of #Russia's equipment in #Belgorod, but verifying is not possible.

The group also claims to have captured one KamAZ truck and a 'Tulip' self-propelled mortar, "in perfect condition"
#EATP

Is 'Everything According To Plan' for the #Crimea/#Kerch bridge? Is it in danger?

Alarming new photographs appear to show massive vertical cracks on at least one of the pillars supporting the bridge to the occupied peninsula. ImageImage
#RussiaOnFire

Inside #Russia more problems in the village of #Shebekino. The local council building is on fire, presumably after shelling.

This was the first signifcant hit of the day.
Meanwhile more shelling since then and another column of smoke can be seen rising in the #Belgorod village of #Shebekino.

An 'evactuation bus', empty at the time, was damaged in the initial blasts. ImageImageImage
#Latvia's parliament has voted for #Ukraine to be admitted to #NATO.

Spain's El Pais newspaper says NATO is considering several options for security guarantees for Ukraine.

The constitution of the Defence organisation forbids entry to a country at war or with disputed territory
It's certainly getting hot in the #Russia town of #Shebekino.

The Russian Volunteer Corps (anti Putin) hint they are already there. Video unverified

#StandWithUkraine
The RDK (Russia Volunteer Corps) also published this video which it says is of more destruction in #Shebekino.
More strikes happening now in #Shebekino, just over the border into #Russia.
A couple of videos to show you...

"Russian Volunteer Corps" is fighting on the outskirts of the town. They urge people to stay home as rockets land in the town.
#Shebekino, #Russia

People are evacuating the town themselves. Earlier authorities tried to move children out of Shebekino.

Fighting continues.
#Hungary's govt doing #Putin's bidding again?

🇭🇺FM says training of #Ukraine's military under a #NATO flag is "unacceptable"; they must avoid a direct clash with #Russia

67 years ago this month Hungary's revolution began, #Moscow killed 3,000 civilians in crushing the rebellion
#RussiaOnFire

Sabotage is suspected here in the east of #Moskovskaya oblast (#Moscow region)

35 vehicles were destroyed in a parking lot in #Noginsk. It's reported "unknown people" poured liquid on the minibuses before the blaze.
This morning a drone was shot down by #Russia near #Kaluga.

It's around 340km from the border with #Ukraine

Officials say it's a Soviet model Tu-141 Swift, converted into a strike-drone carrying explosives and with an extra fuel tank giving a range of up to 1,000km.
#Russia sent fighter jets to #Belgorod as wtinessed by locals.

11 people are said to have been injured in the trouble in #Shebekino, four seriously wounded. ImageImageImageImage
Despite the chaos & panic in the town of #Shebekino, the armed forces of #Russia say they PREVENTED an attack by #Ukraine during the night.

They claim up to 200 soldiers in two motorised infantry companies tried to break through the border, 30 were killed, equipment destroyed🤔
#RussiaOnFire

Everything according to plan at this oil field in #Nizhnevartovsk.

The explosion occurred at #Russia's Severo-Labatyuganskoye field.

Apparently no one was injured and the fire was soon extinguished.
Just been sent a new photo, showing in daylight, the damage following #Ukraine's drain attack on the oil refinery in #Russia's #Krasnodar region yesterday morning.

Image
The Pentagon has awarded a $118m contract for Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft systems to be made for #Ukraine.

American company Global Military Products won the deal - manufacturing will be carried out in #Amman, #Jordan, to be completed within 12 months. Image
#Russia seems to have bombed territory it controls in #Ukraine once again.

Aerial bombs were dropped by planes today in #Kherson on both sides of the river Dnipro.

3 bombs landed on #Kozatsk and one on the left bank, hitting a school in #NovaKakhovka.
One person died. ImageImageImageImage
More guided air bombs fired on #Kherson region this lunchtime.

Three people were injured in the town of #Beryslav, two were men who worked in this bakery which was destroyed.

#RussiaIsATerroristState ImageImageImageImage
Awayfrom the war, a couple of shootings in #Ukraine today.

In L'viv a student is in a medical coma after being shot in the chest.
While here in #Odesa a man's been arrested after 2 people were killed. It's alleged he shot his wife and her lover.

Too many firearms in society now ImageImage
#Kyiv decides to open all bomb shelters permanently.

"Today it was decided that they should be permanently open. Previously, because of repair works and homeless gathering there they had to be closed" said the Council's Roman Tkachuk.
"But now we have no other choice" Image
#Russia blames #Ukraine again after more smoke in the town of #Shebekino this afternoon.

However some locals say something fell off a plane.
It wouldn't be the frst time of course!
On Saturday, between 10am and 4pm, there will be a "blood for the army" campagin in central #Kyiv.

Collections will be taken by medics on Mikhailivska Square.

Can't imagine why they want blood stocks higher for next week! Image
#Russia sends in more heavy military equipment to #Shebekino. The town near the border with #Ukraine has been under fire much of the last week and today Russian patriotic rebel groups claim they made it to the outskirts unhindered.
We may run out of 🍿

Earlier Prigozhin made disparaging remarks about Kadyrovites. They suggested a "meeting" in a threatening way.

For those who don't know Utkin, @thetimes wrote this about him. Why Wagner? He was Hitler's fave composer. Get the idea?
Image
The security guard who failed to open the shelter in #Kyiv where 3 people died, was sober a medical examination has proven. Some residents claimed he was drunk.

Meanwhile Zelenskyy is using the tragedy to score political points over @Vitaliy_Klychko, blaming Kyiv authorities.
Brazil's President continues to flip-flop (or should I say thong?) in the war

Lula had been spouting some of #Russia's propaganda, but today after meeting Finland's President he reiterated his condemnation of Russia's invasion but said he wanted to remain neutral to broker peace

The Russian Volunteer Corps has this evening released two videos, which the group writes "say more than a thousand words"

I'll let you decide.
#StopRussia
2/2
The anti-Putin RDK (Russian Volunteer Corps) said they were back on their native territory.

However there's no way of knowing which side of #Russia's border these videos were filmed on.

#StopRussianAggression
In #Poland they're already changing the road signs from #Kaliningrad to #Królewiec.

#StopRussia ImageImage
Missiles are heading to #Ukraine.

Monitors pick up launches from #Russia's Tu-95 bombers over the Caspian Sea. The rockets are expected to be in Ukraine's airspace in about an hour's time.

#StandWithUkraine
It's been an eventful evening in #Kursk in western #Russia.

Explosions have been reported near the airfield and the railway station.

#StopRussia
Authorities in #Kursk say multiple drones have been shot down tonight.

Obviously that is the stock answer to any instance of explosions in #Russia. The truth is not known.

#StandWithUkraine
In #Belgorod a video's been published of the moment something hit the city.

Officials say it was a strike drone launched by #Ukraine but some witnesses thought something fell on a plane. I don't think the video's conclusive.
Photos from #Kursk where 7 explosions were reported.
These are from the railway district and looks like damage to a door to an apartment block.

Good morning and I hope you are all well.

Yes, I'm back again for another daily thread, with all the important news from Ukraine and Russia in one handy thread, every single day.

DMs open for your tip-offs; please help to keep Ukraine in the news, share, re-post, reply etc.
So, Day 1303 gets underway, but first the link back to 1302 and Wednesday's news feed.

A lot of stuff covered, but forgive me for my favourite moment being the British King lecturing a wannabe king about support for Ukraine.

Only a 65% success rate for Ukraine's air defence last night.

75 drones were launched by Russia, initially at eastern areas, then attacking Kyiv later in the night.
One UAV is still flying, of the others, Ukraine brought down 48.

Hits occurred in 6 places according to Ukraine. Image

Wednesday. Day 1302 of the illegal war started by Russia.

For all the fact-checked news about Ukraine, analysis not sugar-coated, and honest appraisals of the situation, trust an expert who isn't here for clicks (if I was I'd post lies & gory videos).

Thanks for being #TeamTim
Yesterday an astonishing report from Yale showing Russia forcing kidnapped kids to work in drone factories, how Croatia may have embarrassed the Putin/ Hungary/Slovakia axis.

Those and many more stories in Tuesday's thread, click here to review:

2-3 weeks ago, Russia started copying Ukraine's attacks on railway infrastructure and is having success.

At night, Ukrzaliznytsia substations were hit, causing power losses firing the rail network.

Over 20 passenger trains were on affected routes, but there are no casualties. Image

Day 1301 of Ukraine fighting for its survival. The right to be free, speak their own language, worship in their own churches, to learn their own history.

A history of long suppression by Russia.
As war crimes grow daily, the words "never again" don't seem to apply.
Here's the🧵
Yesterday began, and ended, with Russia attacking Zaporizhzhia, injuring civilians.

Also, the head of the IAEA disgraced himself in Russia's arms, changes of 🇺🇦army leadership, and how a Russian guy was a Putin opponent, until 3 mins after being elected.

First though a breaking news after a number of morning attacks by Russia, particularly in Kyiv region.

This is in the town of Fastiv where a logistics centre for the electronic retail company EpiCentre (EpiTsentr).

Residents are warned of potential air pollution. Image

Day 1300 of Putin's war.
Another 100 days of fighting completed.
We are no nearer peace than we were 100 days ago.

Almost 200 days ago Trump demanded a 30-day unconditional ceasefire.
Not surprising as he started it, it's always Putin stopping peace.

Here's Monday's daily🧵
If you were busy over the weekend, click the link to see all Sunday's stories.

It was a day when Ukraine had to quickly repair a main railway line after a massive explosion, but they also managed to make multiple hits on Russia's rail and oil industries

The overnight bombardment from Russia remained lower than usual, although 84 drones and 3 S-300 missiles caused a fair bit of damage on 'soft' targets

With 59 UAVs stopped, that's a 70% success rate.
None of the missiles was intercepted either

The 28 hits occurred in 13 places Image

Day 1299 - the daily thread starts here, covering all things to do with the illegal invasion of Ukraine by its demonic neighbour.

Plenty to catch up on due to the late start today.
So no time to waste, let's go...
Apologies for the much later start than intended, due to a few technical issues, as well as Dad's Taxi being booked for a rescue mission😂

Before we look at today's events, here's the link back to Saturday's thread:

At the end of yday's thread, I wrote about what was a probable Russian strike on Kyiv's railway.

Ukraine's Gen Staff doesn't say it was an attack but admits a "detonation of ammunition on a train carrying military cargo"

Accidents happen, but either way it's a clear blow.

Hello on Day 1298 of Russia's full invasion of its sovereign neighbour. So, only 1295 days late in fulfilling the boast of taking Kyiv in 3 days. #EATP for Putin.

I've compiled a🧵every single day without fail.
You can help my work with a boost, comment, re-post or a coffee🙏
Friday saw more important visitors arrive in Kyiv (and another familiar place is in Ukraine today).

There was more solidarity and practical support, while Russia suffered more oil woes.

If you missed anything, click and scroll here:

I'll start in Odesa, because that's where the familiar face has turned up.

He was planning to return to Ukraine a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't make it, but now Boris is back.
Loved by nearly all Ukrainians, his early arrival (with Lord Ashcroft) meant he avoids the crowds. Image
