Quick little story for anyone who is feeling defeated about where they are in life right now. This is a rant thread.
I was born to a single, immigrant mother. My father left her when she got pregnant with me — I met him once when I was 7.
I was always in trouble when I was younger. They said I had ADD. I probably did.
My mom used to say she was scared when the phone rang. She was always worried it was the office calling to send me home for the week.
At the end of 2nd grade, I was forced to transfer schools because I was such a little shit and caused so many problems.
In 3rd grade, the kids mocked me because I wore Old Navy 4th of July shirts, year round. They were $4 each and my first "brand name shirts."
In 4th grade, everyone mocked my haircut — my mom would cut it for me because $10 at a little salon was something we couldn't afford.
In 5th grade, I made the mistake of getting on the schoolbus with a 99 cent store bag. It followed me the rest of the year.
6th grade — Classmate said I wore "swap meet t-shirts and fake asics." I just thought the shoes looked cool. Guess they were fake asics.
Beginning of high school, it was me and my mom living in a dingy little apartment and I decided I wasn't about that life.
I sacrificed all my free time, and time that wasnt free, and tried to make money. I was 14.
Fast forward to "today," I decided I wanted a McLaren last week, found one, bought it, and pick it up this week.
No idea what the point of this rant is. I'm hyped on 6 shots of espresso and its almost the anniversary of my mom's death.
But, if you're stressed about where you're at right now, don't be. Just keep rolling with the punches and kick life in the jaw.
It doesn't matter how much you have or don't have, all that matters is that you have the potential to be whatever you want.
All you need is to be hungry, have a gun to your head, and have one person that supports you through your failures (mine was my mom).
She was smart and savvy, but also bled herself dry for others. She's the only reason I'm not unethical or a shark.
I'm not trying to motivate you to then tell you to buy access to some shitty monthly pay-for-mentorship program like all these losers.
I never paid for a single "program" or "product" sold by some loser with a 15 year old lambo acting like he's loaded.
