-If you are unable to truly #Listen

10 common money mistakes that will cost you your financial freedom....

Don't miss the 7th one...

A thread....Let's go

#investing #mistakes #technofunda #YouCanCompound
1. Procrastinating to INVEST

Compounding is the 8th wonder of the world...and the exponential factor in it's equation is TIME

The more time you give yourself to compound your investment, the better it is

Even if you are in 20s or 30s...START NOW...Don't wait
2. Lure of LEVERAGE

As soon as we start earning decent salary or income...there is lure from all around...

The EMI trap...for that Amazon sale, that iPhone, bigger home, bigger car...foreign holidays...

AVOID DEBT....Build your nest egg....that starts compounding...

Quarter 1 of FY 23 has given a lot of new learning in #trading and #Investment.

"#Market is like an Amoeba which keeps on changing its shape" so one has to adapt to it and grow.

So let's see what all #mistakes I did and what changes I did to my trading style.
First of all, let's start with #Options Trading.

Earlier I used to take the entire position on Thursday/Friday: one week before expiry. Because of this, I had no margin left for any adjustments in case of gapup or gapdown opening.
Now, I don't take all the positions in one go. It is splitted across three days.

25% Position on Thursday.
25% Position on Friday.
50% Position on Monday.

After this, I stopped doing fire fighting via adjustments and if Stoploss is hit, simply exit the position.

Under Keir Starmer's leadership Labour have been losing their vote share in council and by-elections across the country, making greater losses than in GE 2019, despite that year’s smearing of Labour and its leadership (now pretty much ‘on hold’).

#Starmer #KeirStarmer
Is this poor voter performance and Starmer’s continuing unpopularity the result of strategic mistakes on the part of him and his team?

Let’s look at what appear to be Sir Keir Starmer’s top ten errors of judgement.

#Starmer #KeirStarmer #Labour #mistakes
Mistake No.10: Being Starmer

It was a strategic error for Labour to choose a leader so stale, male & pale he makes even ultra-privileged Johnson look anti-establishment. Tactically, should Starmer have put himself fwd for the leadership role?

I've made #mistakes. Several of them.
They've taught me lessons of a lifetime.
Sharing it here in a thread for whoever can gain from it.
First #Lesson:
Always be wary of people who talk big in the first meeting. The need to prove comes from insecurity.
Second #Lesson:
Spend enough time with your child before she outgrows her need for you.

Trading Mistakes & Lessons Learnt 🧵

1) I always keep my mistakes & lessons learnt in front of my screen while trading.
Bcz we as traders tend to commit the same mistakes everytime.

So seeing your learnt lessons everyday ensures that you avoid them.

#trading #mistakes
2) In 2017, I analysed all my trades and saw that I have majorly lost in stock futures and profits came only via index trading.

I accepted that I am not great at stock trading & been trading index only majorly since then & have never missed a day trading BankNifty
3) I decided to adjust all of my past losses to 1 % of capital to see the effect of capping the downside.

I would have had a gain of more than 230 % if I had capped losses at 1% of cap.

Lesson: Keep losses per trade less than 1% of capital no matter what !

I don’t suppose you’ve ever made a mistake?
“Why would you ask that?”
Because I’ve just made one.
“Ah, I see… And you don’t like making mistakes, do you?”
“Want to tell me?”
“Are you sure?”
I’m sure.

It’s something you said.
You made me realise something.
“I’m sorry. I wouldn’t have intended–”
You said, “Is it ethical to have so many enemies? Is it ethical to see so many people as ‘enemies of the people’?”
“I said that–but that doesn’t mean– ”
But you were right.
I like to think I’m strong on ethics… So what you said was quite a challenge. It hit me where it hurts. Right on target.
A kill shot.

A theme I have seen w/ some of my high-level college & pro clients lately is the difficulty they are having letting go of #mistakes. Perhaps it's due to time off from the pandemic & increased pressure they are feeling? Regardless, here are some thoughts on overcoming it. [THREAD]
It's natural to dwell on a mistake. Doing this for too long, though, can lead to more mistakes. Suddenly, instead of 1 error, you now have made 3. This can lead to frustration, anger, and decreased confidence. It also takes our focus out of the present & into the past or future.
Naturally, a place where a sport psychologist will start, then, is to bring the focus back into the present. After all, we can't change the past or control the future. Some common ways to do this are by focusing on breathing or using focal points.

For two months we've been feted with snarky Jabs noting #typographical and #othererrors in #electionchallenge lawsuits.

You know, #mistakes?
What wasn't a mistake?

It wasn't a #mistake when @TheJusticeDept told a federal court that there were plans to capture and kill members of Congress during the incident at Capitol Hill.
That wasn't a "spacebar" instead of a "comma."

That was a process:

examine evidence
review charging standards
frame thought
formulate words
enter words on keyboard.

This was a whole freaking sentence filled with words; words filled with meaning; meaning expressing intent.

I know it's gotten fashionable to #blame others for our #emotions because self #responsibility is difficult and people have been taught to avoid what is difficult.

But self #responsibility is EXACTLY the perfect level of #difficult because it's an equal opportunity difficulty; none of us are without flaws or errors or #mistakes and we've ALL been wronged (on some level) by something.

Self responsibility is SO important, that the 12 Steps (of #AlcoholicsAnonymous, #NarcoticsAnonymous, #AlAnon, #Codependent recovery, etc.) is BASED on it.

To be sober, for example, I had/have to take responsibility for the parts of my life that I was/am responsible for.

#Traders path #Futures & #Options

1: Understanding the game

Trading is not much different from playing poker game or betting on various other things.

It’s just a structured game where rules are not made by anyone, but needs to be followed by everyone in game.
Understanding those rules and adjusting yourself is a continuous process which will never end. As #SEBI would keep on changing rules.

The important thing to understand is any thing in life if we want to succeed we need patience and dedication.
A 2 hour webinar or 2 day course can’t teach you about #CapitalMarkets or #Trading it’s impossible.

Personally i feel have around 40-50% knowledge about capital markets after more than 12years of trading experience.

T2 - Took a trade again a double doji, rejection on 15mins....not going anywhere scratched it with a loss. #Selfnote Close the trade if its looking iffy, immediately

Born & raised in #Fanar #Lebanon, a tiny country in the middle east with a lot to offer. I always had a positive outlook on life maybe because of the culture or values🤷‍♀️.
If you don't know #Lebanon or a #lebanese then you should start mingling 🤣

I grew up surrounded by a loving, joking & tough type of family that always support each other even amidst fighting. You can imaging being 4 kids in different age groups can cause a lot of fights growing up 😂 #siblingsfight #family #VoicesIWS
I have my issues🤷‍♀️! I always wanted to prove myself & make my family proud(2nd child). A pressure that was just in my head; they were always proud of us. I wanted to grow up to be a doctor or an army officer like my dad. Let's just say I changed my mind! #VoicesIWS @IWS_Network
