Alex Somlyay did not leave Parliament that long ago, he is also Liberal, so surely Government would be aware of this precedent?

Was knowledge of this EXACT SAME Hungarian situation with Somlyay why PM was so hysterical in his attempt at deflection invoking holocaust?

Don't get me wrong, what happened with Frydenberg's mum is a sad story, but irrelevant in relation to Josh fulfilling Constitutional law.

Considering how the High Court looked at the other MPs & Senators pinged, it would appear that Frydenberg should be referred to HC.

I sincerely hope that press gallery are not cowed by PMs thinly veiled accusation of antisemitism for questioning Frydenberg's status?

It is patently clear from the PMs hysterical & over-blown response to the query about Frydenberg's status, that there is a problem here.

Regardless of PMs 'onus on accuser' screeching, citizens can't force this issue, only the press gallery and media can.

Yes, this country has more important issues than squabbling over citizenship, BUT, it is imperative we have confidence.

Actually, beyond imperative that we have confidence the Government has been duly elected & all making laws are entitled to do so by law.

We cannot have "Rule of Law" as the PM asserts, IF we have no confidence in our Government's right to actually pass & enforce the law?

We need an #AuditNow to regain that confidence in the Australian Parliament. I use #CitizenshipX as we don't know how many more are duals?

Yes, I realise that this is a rather silly law when applied to the extreme, BUT, it is the Constitution, the HC has just re-affirmed s44i

So it is the law, whether you like it or not, whether politicians find it inconvenient or not. Our top law makers have to abide by it.

Messy as it may be, I would hope the Press Gallery also take our Constitution seriously and make all attempts to verify eligibility of MPs.

Informing the public and holding Government to account is the first priority of the Press Gallery. The PM has no right to stop you.

So please Press Gallery, do the right thing, look at all MPs, push for answers, ensure, on our behalf, we have a "legitimate" Government.

Don't stop looking at Frydenberg. Back story is interesting, but not the point when it comes to complying with s44i.

In fact, if look at Alex Somlyay, a previous LNP MP, he was in EXACT same position as Frydenberg. Stateless parents, Hungarian.

He was in Parliament when the iron curtain fell and return of citizenship to the "diaspora" that had fled.

Alex Somlyay realised this impacted him, he therefore saw the Hungarian ambassador & relinquished Hungarian rights - in writing.

This precedent by Somlyay to ensure he complied with s44i in our Constitution belies the 'assurances' Frydenberg is giving media.

I will repeat, yes, cleaning up Parliament will be messy, but it would appear that Josh Frydenberg needs to be referred to the High Court.

In fact, in light of Parry and others who have all 'assured' us they are complying with s44i, quite frankly, we can't take their word for it
