Less than 4 weeks to go until our #christmas #charity #motorbike rides supporting @CHSW - in #bristol #devon and #plymouth -Sat 2nd December
There's no charge to attend and all bikes, trikes and scooters are welcome to join us - all donations are welcome and 100% donated to @CHSW
Decorate yourself and your bike and help raise some smiles while supporting your local children's hospice.
In #Bristol our main ride meets at @dicklovett Cribbs Causeway (BS10 7TU) from mid morning, ready for a 1pm departure. Food+drink available.

#Christmas is a day of remembrance and strengthening family bonds. The border wall behind me cuts those bonds. It disintegrates families seeking inalienable dignity.

It is a monument to bigotry, a piece of physical xenophobia.
The picture is from my trip to Tijuana in August when I spent a few days advising asylum seekers. I am standing on the Mexican side, but technically inside the US.

Here, hope and despair run feverishly as two turbulent rivers, each vying for victory in these roaring rapids.
Tonight, entire families hunker down in a tent city not a hundred yards from where this picture was taken, their futures deliberately made cruelly uncertain, and still our government throws up more walls of bureaucracy designed to break the spirit under a huge "closed" sign.

Everyone attended what I imagine the prosecution, defence & judge via video link from Westminster assumes would be a formal yet cordial chat about admission of evidence in the case where a police officer is charged with assault.
It was thought that the defence would seek a ruling restricting the evidence admissible in this case.
But he didn’t. Instead, with press: (me from @BristolLive @stevenmorris20 @clairehayhurst @PollitaMarch) he said he wanted to ask if some evidence could be heard ‘in camera’

Today I am going to try and cook for the first time since I was paralyzed.

I used to cook most nights for me and The Wife. After Mass on Sundays, I would make brunch.

I made every holiday meal for 17 of our 18yrs together. I did the #Christmas baking.

I started cooking as a child. I grew up in a chaotic household. Great politics but a chronically ill mother. I was the oldest sibling & the maternal stand-in.

I became a vegetarian for political reasons at 14, so I had to learn how cook that diet cheaply since we were poor.

In college I cooked for everyone. I knew how to stretch $.When I was in the domestic Peace Corps I taught people how to cook with next to no money.

I love feeding people.
I think food is an evocation of love for many folks.

I haven't been able to cook since I was paralyzed.

He taught reception and early years mainly, up to year 4 I think. 2/
He was leaving first because he felt he now actually spent a too little of his time actually teaching and too much hoop-jumping. 3/
