4. During the campaigns, it became clear there was a considerable amount of distrust in me by some within our party. Indeed it was this mistrust that characterised my tenure. I hope @PatrickAmuriat gets better support trust & cooperation than I was afforded

5. I am an army man and I know first hand just how important trust is in a fight. No matter how well trained or equipped you are, it is impossible to fight and win at the frontline if those beside you and behind you are hesitant to be led by you.

6. Therefore, in the coming days when the dust has settled, we will have to think long and hard about what this distrust means and why it persists. At a personal level, I will have to make several decisions. I ask for your patience, prayers and understanding.

7. To those who supported me both in and outside the delegates, I would like to urge you not to panic or loose hope. While there are setbacks on a personal level, there have been gains at a party level. Yesterday, @FDCOfficial1 won. Democracy won.

8. Finally, remember Uganda what yesterday was REALLY about. Our country's challenges are legion: unemployment, an out of touch gov't, broken education, healthcare & justice systems. Yesterday was abt how to deal with that. So let's get to work & DEAL WITH THAT

Best thing to come out of this election?

A completely unleashed Trump means:

all that stuff Sessions & Rosenstein & Horowitz & Huber had to keep under wraps for more than a year, the curtain can be tossed of it.

None of it was politicized before the midterms.
The only thing that leaked was the McCabe grand jury. And it quickly sank 'neath the surface again, quickly forgotten.

So Democrats and DNC Media can't do the "OMG YOU POLITICIZED THESE INVESTIGATIONS BY ROLLING THEM OUT BEFORE THE MIDTERMS!" talking point.
Trump said repeatedly it'd take him and his team 2 years to 'get up to speed'.

We're almost there. A lot of preparation has been done behind the scenes WITHOUT politicizing any of it so the Democrats could scream & wail about their heroes being persecuted & energize their base.

This is time of year when most new PhD students embark on their journey into academia and #PhDlife. I’m three-years into mine (eight-months left 😐), and here are ten things I wish I’d known before I started. (Disclaimer: this advice is dubious at best!) (1/12)
1. It’s okay not to know what the heck you’re doing when you first start. It took me a good six-twelve months to properly get my head around exactly what my project would involve. There will be lots of reading, and that’s okay. Your project will probably change a lot, too. (2/12)
2. Every PhD is very different, so don’t judge your progress by the amount of progress your peers are making. It’s okay to be aware of what other people are doing and take cues, but keep your eye on your own ball. (3/12)

It was a Saturday Shoe Polishing Day this late morning. Started at 10am.
First, always make sure the shoe's verandah are brushed and blackened. Keep black, black. Brown, brown. Clear, neutral. It's essential.
Then you layer the leather with shoe wax as thinly as possible. In circular motion until it fades to a blur. Repeat at least 5 more time. Allow it to form a haze, and then take a lint free clothes to wipe it off. My left Florsheim Brogue in light brown uses neutral to keep color
