About 50 foreign terrorists now operating in Mindanao, everyone belongs to the Islamic State – says Maj. Gen. Fernando Trinidad, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)
newsinfo.inquirer.net/961159/about-5… przez @inquirerdotnet
But, as we have been talking about a lot in recent months with @ZamYusa most of them are Indonesians and Malaysians - in other words regional. News here is about an Egyptian (!) national, i have never heard about him before.
Bonus :
Besides Amin Baco, we have new possibilites to ISEA highest leadership :
one of them is mr Mohammad Reza Kiram aka Abu Abdul Rahman al-Filipini who had travelled to Syria and is thought to be back (!) to the Philippines. Previously appeared in this June 2016 video.
Other possibilites :
Abu Dar operating near Lanao del Sur
Abu Walid from Indonesia
This unnamed Egyptian national
Abu Turayfie ( i won't ever believe in that)
Seems to be consistent with what we've been saying with @ZamYusa again.
Abu Dar has been reported a lot of times since last Summer, mainly by MILF unable to prevent his movements. He is said to have left Marawi battle in the early stage to manage money looted from the city and keep on recruiting fighters
(End of thread)
Nothing from what mr General said changes my opinion about Foregin Fighters issue (especially *caucasian looking ones*). Main points remain.
Oh, hello there -
Spanish citizen of Tunisian descent arrested and detained at Basilan, reportedly tried to join IS/Abu Sayyaf
rappler.com/nation/194427-…
Basilan is the place where Happilon came to Lanao del Sur from - remains as a IS/AS stronghold, i sent some pictures of IS cells operating there. Certainly possible that he was sent here by IS (he travelled through Morocco, Tunisia and then Philippines)
Certainly interesting that more info emerge about real foreign fighters, confirmed Egyptian militant, now arrested Spanish one. It's worthy to remind, that IS Central has been calling to hijra to the Philippines even after Marawi's fall.
The plot widens- it's been confirmed, that this Spaniard was on his way to join the Islamic State and Amin Baco (suspected emir of ISEA as you might know from our with @ZamYusa exchanges) thestar.com.my/news/nation/20…
