Quick thread:

1) Assistant AG Stephen Boyd just told Nunes in a letter that releasing his memo will be a "deviation" from an arrangement DOJ negotiated on access to classified info with House Intel Committee and ... Paul Ryan's office:

(h/t @NatashaBertrand)
2) This appears to be a reference to @RepAdamSchiff's hint yesterday that Nunes had violated such an agreement:
3) Lawfare's @Susan_Hennessey raised the question yesterday of whether Schiff had basically suggested Nunes had mishandled classified information:

4) The White House has publicly endorsed this #ReleaseTheMemo strategy, which DOJ has now said breaches this agreement.
5) As far as I can tell, Paul Ryan has basically endorsed Nunes' #ReleaseTheMemo strategy.

Would love to hear from experts. Shouldn't Ryan be asked whether he backs Nunes on #ReleaseTheMemo, now that DOJ has explicitly said it violates the deal Ryan entered into?
6) Here's the full letter from DOJ's Boyd to Nunes:…
7) DOJ letter also says release of Nunes memo would have "damaging impact" on "national security."

But WH has endorsed release of memo on grounds that it = "full transparency" (a lie).

So it will be interesting to hear WH's response to DOJ's claim.
