1) I am not going to harp on this forever but do want to follow up briefly on what I was talking about yesterday with regards to media control of source information using today's IG letter as an example.
2) The Hill and Fox broke the story early this afternoon within minutes of each other close to 1pm. Here is an archived Hill article. archive.is/fHqEQ
3) They begin the article informing us that they received the letter and provide a synopsis, and one direct quote from the letter. This is the only direct quote in the article from the IG letter.
4) They end the article referencing the IG letter.
5) Here is the totality of the article. The sections about the IG letter in boxes.

6) The Hill coverage of the IG letter hits the key point that the texts were recovered. The texts were missing. They have been found. While this is good, it falls short by neglecting to mention one key point.
7) The Hill did not think it significant that additional text recovery is ongoing....

8) Fox hit this key point and read the letter live on the air getting Michael Horowitz name wrong. Host did not correct the error. He's not well known....yet. Imagine a fox viewer googling David Horowitz. Overall not a real big deal, but good for a chuckle.
9) An hour after Fox and The Hill multiple media outlets followed up. There are two of note for this exercise. Politico and Washington Examiner. Both included the PDF! 👍
10) The difference? Politico did not mention the key point that the hunt for missing texts is ongoing. The Examiner did. 👍👍
11) IG gave Fox (right) and The Hill (left) exclusive releases an hour before everyone else. I don't have time to examine every outlets coverage of the IG letter, but did want to spend some time showing the differences, as well as the process of source control and dissemination.
12) In addition to the key point, I found it personally satisfying that the IG let us know that he is looking forward to public disclosure.

Ok so I had a look, it can be done. You can create a repo and create a commit programmatically through the official API. So far so good.

If you hate giving presentations, this thread is for you.
When I started my first job, I hated giving presentations. Avoided them any way I could. Nervous all day when I was due to present. At one point I understood that there's no way I could succeed in my job without getting comfortable communicating in this way.
I realized that presenting is an experience driven skill. The only way to get better at it is to do it. I was presenting maybe once a year. I saw that if I presented once a month, I could learn 12 years worth of experience in one year.
