.@Cinemark I’m so upset. After paying a bus fare, buying tickets to #LOVESIMON, buying candy, soda and my popcorn to enjoy a movie, I was turned away because “I had a backpack.” I asked for my backpack to be checked and they refused. I never received an apology. Please address.
Nobody was at the counter, I couldn’t get my student discount. I stood in line watching folks get in with large purses & backpacks but only the BROWN kid with a backpack was not allowed in. I was racially profiled by all white staff at Hampshire Mall @Cinemark in Amherst, MA.
While checking in the guy told me that they had no protocol to check bags. Next thing he did is let in a white woman with a purse larger than my backpack. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m still waiting on @Cinemark to respond and at the very least apologize.
