Dear Eugene, Oregon:

I have an exciting business proposal. Imagine a festival where people named Eugene from around the world come and hang out with other Eugenes. The dress code is denim so fans can come see Eugenes in blue jeans in Eugene.

People named Gene are also invited to attend, but their jeans do not have to blue.

People named Jean are also invited to attend, but they must wear denim from head to toe, for it is their namesake.

People with a middle name related to any forms of Eugene are also invited to attend and must wear one denim accessory. Approved items include cowboy hats, vests, and fanny packs.

People named Eugenia are special, exalted guests who are automatically deemed a Eugene Queen. I am looking into how one might be able to make a crown and scepter out of denim, will report my findings later.

People who are not named Eugene/Gene/Jean/Eugenia/etc. are more than welcome to attend, but you are not allowed to wear any denim. If you do, the festival mascot, Mean Eugene, will taunt you mercilessly until you change clothes.

People named Genie/Jeannie are also invited to attend and their denim must be glittered, bejeweled, or bedazzled. This is absolutely mandatory.

Any and all pets with names related to forms of Eugene are more than welcome to attend. I would highly suggest looking into dressmakers and tailors now so you can start designing their tiny custom denim outfits.

I have commissioned a very professional sketch of festival mascot Mean Eugene. He will be green and mean. Merch sales will be through the roof.
