Society is dismal; we are forced to sell our labour for capitalists to profit off, so we can acquire basic essentials privately held by the ruling class.

But rather than allow yourself to be turned against fellow workers, direct your anger at the system itself - capitalism
Being sad and unhappy with life under these conditions is completely normal. People are defined by a market that only cares for how much profit capitalists extract from them, viewing them as nothing more than a replaceable cog, disregarding emotion and happiness for capital
Rather than enjoying the freedoms of life, exploring themselves as people, discovering their interests, and being a living human being...

...the majority of us are instead trapped in a system that prices us out of life, commodifies the world around us, and forces us to work
The intrinsic value of human life is cast aside for the profits capitalists can extract from you. Emotions, happiness and freedom matter only for those wealthy enough to control production - the rest are dehumanised and forced into miserable wage slavery, at risk of death
With all that, plus a society of environmental devastation, global economic turmoil, dismal visions of the future, growing societal instability... is it any wonder so many people are upset and unhappy? That people are so dissatisfied and frustrated with life?
We live in times of rising fascism and societal decay - it is in the interest of capitalists to distract people from the actual problem, capitalism, and shift the blame onto other groups in society - adopting bigoted and hateful rhetoric to protect their own capital from workers
It's why far right groups have so much success at radicalising young white men online - they take their genuine unhappiness and feed them lies to indoctrinate them. They can blame LGBTQ people for "degeneracy", accuse immigrants and POC of "invading", label women as "sluts"
Unlike mainstream liberal ideas, the far right happily acknowledge faults in society - they are viruses ready to find a host for their ideas, and feed lurid rhetoric to people in order to spread their views. A person acknowledging your unhappiness beats a person doing otherwise
Of course, the far right do not actually make people happier - if anything, delegating entire factions of society as unworthy of their place isolates you even more. Competing with fellow workers is exactly what the capitalist wants, and it only makes such individuals feel worse
Which brings us back to the main point of what I want to say - if we focus on the actual cause of societal problems; capitalism; we can reach people in emotional strife without touching the horrors of fascism, and fight for a better, fairer, happier world.
The discontent is clearly there - young people are increasingly suffering from depression, mental health problems are spread across society, and the world is clearly not in good shape right now.

We can captivate and speak to these problems by focusing on the cause - capitalism
And sure, it won't immediately alleviate all unhappiness. But to tell people that a greater form of society is possible, where the miserable conditions capitalism forces onto workers are removed, is something easily doable and potentially phenomenal to people's survival
