It can't be collusion if it's after the election.
There's nothing illegal about a back channel.
If the government knows something it's because they unmasked me and that's wrong.
But curiously, the question "why would Erik Prince have lied about the meeting in his Congressional interview" never comes up in @ByronYork's exercise.
"I didn't do it but if I did it wasn't collusion and it wasn't illegal and if they know about it they found out the wrong way and don't ask why I lied about it."

Paul Manafort hired a blogger to come up with a fake think tank called the "Center for the Study of Former Soviet Socialist Republics (CXSSR)" to support Russian-backed president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.

CXSSR had two or three "real" people producing content, but there's strong evidence that several of the "scholars" were sock puppets. They didn't exist.

@lachlan did a pretty intensive search but couldn't find evidence that "Erika Chen" or "Matthew Lina" actually existed.

Takeaway on the mainstream conservative right seems to be

1) Both witnesses seemed credible, with exceptions (fear of flying, inconsistent accounts of party attendees, evasiveness about blacking out, yearbook).

2) Democrats played dirty and they can't be allowed to win.

and...
3) The mostly unspoken fear that further investigation of Dr. Ford's claims would likely kill the nomination.

Moving forward on a vote seems to be a short-sighted political calculation that will have long-lasting effects for the GOP.
Mark Judge *will* testify before Congress. But he will likely do so before a Democrat-controlled committee next year, with Justice Kavanaugh seated at the Supreme Court.
