2. If @DMR_SA has the power and authority to issue mining licenses, what mechanisms are in place to ensure that there is adequate provision for people who live in mining communities to have meaningful stake and adequate protection from capricious companies, international & local?
3. Surely, when you were in Cabinet, a Governor and in @MYANC leadership, you had opportunity to review legislation, policies and implementation. I’ve never read any assessment penned by you on these issues. Why now?
4. Can you please break down the structure of mining ownership today? How much is owned by international companies? How much is owned by BEE? How much is owned or benefits local communities?
5. You were part of the High Level Panel. My Comrade, please direct me to your contributions in the HLP, not the report. What exactly was your position on ‘black people and farming’? Caution: I will look at transcripts & archives.
6. If you feel so strongly about land will you fund cases of communities whose land and rights are undermined by traditional leaders + mining companies + political elites, as we speak. Just 3 communities. I don’t want to overload you @tito_mboweni.
7. HLP recommended change of Ingonyama Trust Act. Communal Land Rights Bill (2015) recommended same (and then it was dropped). The Portfolio Committee in 2016 said the same. Will you help champion this important intervention? @tito_mboweni
