i still cannot believe i was on late night with seth meyers. please watch us chat about the book, being okay with not being perfect, acceptance, deadlines, my lovely parents, self care, @tinycarebot, and more! what a dream come true. i love you all!!

my family flew in to be in the audience and seth was so kind and talked to them backstage after. elissa was with me the whole time and held my hand when i got nervous before the taping. i love her. she also took this UNCHARACTERISTICALLY snazzy candid photo of me before the show! me standing in my dressing room wearing my suit
im not really sure what to do now so im sorry if i dont have much else to say here for the next little bit! i feel like i spent so much energy preparing for this that im a little spent now. we’re on the train home and i think i’ll need some time to recover. then back to writing!!
as always, i’m so grateful for you all, and i’m so grateful that i get to do this. i’m very aware that i wasnt supposed to be meant for this and i am taking this all in with as much of me as i can. i’m always trying to make you proud!!!
oh one more thing! i was so anxious and nervous and worried for WEEKS leading up to this. my therapist helped me with an exercise to visualize how everything would go, and that helped me stay present during it. above all else, stay present. thats all you can ask of yourself!! <3
the only moment i lost that feeling of being totally present during the taping was when i saw myself in the playback screen at the edge of the stage and i was like “OH NO THATS ME IM ON TV IM TALKING TO SETH MEYERS” and then i realized i shouldnt look at that screen again lmao
and so then i just focused on the questions and on how to answer them as best i could in the moment i had to the best of my abilities!! and thats all i knew i could ask of myself. and i have to say.. i felt really happy with myself. and thats a rare feeling so i’m gonna take it!!

apropos of nothing, i applied to a lot of things i was excited for this year and did not get accepted into them. i just wanted to share that, in case it helps. let's keep going. take it as a sign that you still have room to grow, as permission to continue, and let's keep going
something important i've learned is in how to frame this thing. it's not "i got rejected" it's "my application for this specific thing at this specific time wasnt accepted"
there have so been many things in my life that didnt work out the way i thought i wanted to, that, looking back, i am very grateful did not happen. different things await you. keep going. your only job is to keep going.

I don't see how anyone with a similar #disability could do anything besides be an entrepreneur or freelancer. Believe me I have tried. Not happening.
I used to tell friends "you write. What about being a writer?"

Deadlines. If you tell me I have 1000 words due at 2pm I'll shrug at you.
Some days I can write 1800 words an hour. I've written a whole ebook in a day before, especially with voice recognition.

Then there are the days I can't get through a tweet without nodding off.

Regular jobs require consistency.

So sleeping is actually healthy for you!
Or maybe you are looking forward to spending time with your family and/or friends. The quality of our relationships impacts our health and the quality of our sleep.
