@TheRock The hierarchy of review will change, with my official review of #BlackAdam for your reading pleasure!!! Check out the thread and good reading!
@TheRock The so-called DCEU has been a mess for a long time. After sabotaging Zack Snyder's (great and superior) plans for this shared universe, the "Hope & Optimism" Team formed by Geoff Johns and John Berg swam and died on the beach, especially after the disgrace of 'JOSStice League.
But the plans had followed, “led” by the incompetent Walter Hamada. After Discovery bought WB, what fans wanted was someone to put this shared universe back into focus, but no one imagined that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be one of those people.

David Zaslav revealed a cohesive plan for the future of DC:

“We’ve restructured the business where we are going to focus, where there is going to be a team with a ten-year plan focusing just on DC...It’s very similar to the structure...at Disney" thr.cm/KZgPvET
"We think we can build a much stronger, sustainable growth business out of DC,” said Zazlav. “As part of that, we are going to focus on quality. We are not going to release any film before it’s ready…DC is something we can make better" thr.cm/KZgPvET
David Zaslav touted a number of DC films coming up, including #BlackAdam, #Shazam Fury of the Gods and #TheFlash, and addressed rumors that some of those films could shift dates without confirming or denying moves thr.cm/KZgPvET

#Batgirl was a casualty of new corporate strategy from David Zaslav, who opted to shelve the project in order to take a tax write down on the $90 million film, multiple sources tell THR thr.cm/IqQzuPM Image
According to multiple sources, Warners considered pumping more money into #Batgirl to beef it up into a theatrical release. Another source downplays that the notion was seriously in contention thr.cm/IqQzuPM Image
When a very early version of #Batgirl test screened it landed a score in the low 60s and is believed to have only tested once. The test score is comparable to tests for 2017's 'It' as well as an early test for the upcoming #Shazam: Fury of the Gods thr.cm/IqQzuPM Image

I watched #Shazam last night (somehow) for the first time, and of the DC films I've seen, it's my favorite by a mile! To be fair I still haven't seen Aquaman or Birds of Prey, but my guess is that Shazam will still be my favorite when I do. My (probably) luke warm takes, below 1/
I thought I'd like it but I didn't know I'd like it as much as i did. Setting it in Philly endears it to me even more! I adore Philadelphia, so when movies are set there it probably makes me like them a little more than I otherwise would. That's just a thing for me. 2/
I also feel this movie made me believe that regular people in this world love the other DC heroes, specifically Supes and Batman. It just felt like a given in this story when they were brought up. Like "yeah of course heroes exist here!" It was part of the fabric of this world 3/

As expected, #JavaScript didn’t fail to meet our expectations in June either. Ranging from music recognition softwares to drones, you will surely find lots of insightful thoughts.
David Neal (@reverentgeek) put #JavaScript on a timeline during @NDC_Conferences.

“The Death Star superweapon is actually a very powerful JavaScript committer.” - it might not be the most important thought of his talk, but it's surely one to remember!

Ever wondered how #Shazam and all the music recognition apps work? Well, so did @royvanrijn!

He decided to create his very own music matching build, and during @GOTOcon Oslo, he uncovered the algorithms, secrets and tricks he used.

So I just saw an early screening of #Shazam! I went into it thinking it was gonna be a cringey mess, all quips and no substance. And I mean, it's not that. It's fine. Serviceable, even. I just can't help but feel I've seen this a gazillion times before.
I think what it's done is take the original concept and modernize it, make it a little more palatable for 21st-century audiences. Which... is exactly what's made every other DC movie fail? And exactly what Marvel never does, which is why their movies all have charm and heart?
Like, take Billy Batson. From what I understand, he was the golden child of the Justice League, a paragon even more noble than Superman. Why? Because he was pure of heart, a child with a child's idea of morality. He was simple, but a good simple.

Quick thread.
A couple of days ago, I shared this image of my youngest son looking at a picture of #CaptainMarvel.
It got quite a bit of attention. Most of it very positive...
...But it blew me away that people could see this picture, and use it to launch an attack.
As a writer for @DCComics AND @Marvel, I genuinely love the heroes at both companies. And I want nothing but success for all their films and comics. #ManyUniversesOneFamily...
...A friendly rivalry can be fun, but I will never understand those who feel they have to put down one hero to boost another. That’s not how this works. If you love these heroes, and you’ve learned from them, then you know this...

In this interview, Mr. Emmerich says that WB’s takeaway from #Aquaman success is returning to the original #DCEU plan: one movie at time more focused on its director creative vision, and less focused in a shared universe plan. No, he didn’t say the shared universe is over. PT1/4
What he did meant is that, in their shared universe, the movie and director individualities come first from now onwards, differing from MCU shared universe, where movies and directors are only team players focused in a shared plan over their own creativity. PT2/4
That was the original plan when the DCEU was announced, but quickly forgotten when WB executives wanted to implement Marvel model plan after it had already started, originating the chaos we all know, with directors quitting, being fired and projects cancelled/badly changed. PT3/4
