The Ukrainian army is destroying the bridges to western Bakhmut.
More signs of a change in strategy.

The Russian invasion forces spearhead is currently located 7 km N-W of Bakhmut.
A Ukrainian drone video shows, it is still only engaged with artillery, which didn't stop it over the last 50 km moving West.

Russian invasion forces conquered #Sil, the last remaining district of #Soledar.

I can only repeat myself: The current Ukrainian defense strategy in northern Donetsk oblast is not working. Decimating Wagner fighters with artillery does not stop their advance.
Since the fall of Bakhmutske, Ukraine did not manage to build a new line of defense. The army is constantly falling back, losing more than 7 kilometers (30 square km) in two weeks. Ukrainian soldiers need urgent reinforcements to stabilize some kind of front line in the area.
Just for the record.
Not sure when the last cargo train went between Bakhmut and Siversk, but also this connection is cut now (also the nearby road).

Unfortunately, there is no change in battlefield dynamics on the northern Donetsk front.
On a front length of 30 km, Russian invasion forces keep slowly but steadily advancing, by far outnumbering Ukrainian defenders.
Russian aim remains to capture Bakhmut and advance westwards.

Difficult and unexpected geolocation, clarifying the situation – IF RECENT (but seems so). Still no visual confirmation from the larger residential buildings in the north. Image

Minimum area of #Soledar and its surroundings under Russian control, deduced from latest geolocations (no Russian or Ukrainian claims) – at least 90%. Image
Just one of many telling geolocations, showing why I believe #Soledar is almost completely under Russian control.
Wagner fighters moving calmly, dead Ukrainians lying on the streets, artillery fire in the background.
Short range battles seem over for now. Russians keep advancing. Image
Grim stuff: An Ukrainian army convoy, trying to leave #Soledar, did not recognize the escape road they chose was already under Russian control.
Wagner mercenaries set an ambush and destroyed a Ukrainian pickup and a French VAB transport tank. So there was a partial encirclement. Image

Visual confirmation, Russian invasion captured all of Kurdyumivka (never admitted lost by the Ukrainian army), south of Bakhmut.

Approximate situation in #Soledar, according to latest geolocaged footage.
Russian invasion forces entered the center from the East and the North and now hold approximately 80% of the city areal (appr. 20% of the urban center).
There is a very disturbing video, displaying lots of killed Ukrainian troops inside a highrise residential building, which I think - but not 100% certain - can be located here.
Also if it is a nearby building, it absolutely fits into "northern Soledar" where Wagner puts it.
Corrected geolocation and cross-checked with Ukrainian footage. It's some hundred meters to the north.

Russian invasion forces captured the entire industrial part of #Bakhmut and advanced into the eastern residential areas.
They also captured 80% of Opytne, south of the city.
Ukrainian forces attempt to counterattack and regain at least the residential areas in the E & S. Image
From Butusov's video, you can see very well where the Russian ground troops came from, how they advanced and where they were met with stiff resistance. Image
I adjusted my map of the East a bit, giving the Ukrainian claims that they still hold one factory and drove out the Russians from the eastern residential areas.
This is disputed by the Russians, but as long as there is no visual evidence, I'll go with the Ukrainian version. Image

For some strange reason, a Russian Mi-8 crew thought it would be safe to fly between the Ukrainian-held settlements of Berestove and Spirne, less than 2 km from the front in N-E Donetsk oblast. Image
The chopper made a hard landing in Russian-held territory nearby. The fate of the crew is unclear. Image

Ukrainian forces liberated at least five more settlements in eastern Kharkiv oblast to reach the oblast border with Luhansk along the P07 road.
Also there seem to be no Russian forces nearby, looking at the soldier in the middle of the street.
Source video:
As I get some funny comments: Parts of the P07 east of Kupyansk are still Russian-controlled or at least under Russian fire control.
We know this as Russians still control Kyslivka.
So Ukrainian forces must have approached this spot from the West via smaller roads.

1st visual confirmation, Ukrainian troops reached #Izyum.
However not via the P79 from Kupyansk, but via the M03 from Kharkiv, which is even more ipressive.
(As always: Map shows only visually-confirmed advances, more areas under Ukrainian control very likely.)

Never forget: Orange stripes are just coping strategy. Image
So red is Russian-occupied on their maps with orange/yellow stripes just outside their control.

First visual evidence (from yesterday), the Russian invasion army inded entered #Soledar and captured the Knauf plant plus more than ten streets.
If they were not beaten back since, the Ukrainian army is not revealing the real sitiation from this sector of the front.
The fact that they entered the area from the north, using the plant as cover for their infantry, means, Bakhmutske was still under Ukrainian control yesterday while the situation in Yakovlikva is probably much worse than on my map.
More images, said to be from inside captured Soledar, but I can't geolocate them now.

The Ukrainian army (as so often indirectly) confirms, defense forces withdrew to the Western riverbank of the Siverski Donets, surrendering (or losing in fighting) another five villages to the Russian invasion army.
Russia claimed these gains yesterday.
This means Russian invasion forces advanced 8 km from Lyman and are now 11 km from Slovyansk.
The river is the last - and probably best- defense line, Ukraine has, before potential street fighting in the city, Russia openly formulated as the prime target of the current offensive.
Another #NewsMap shows advances by the Russian invasion army north of Popasna, also confirmed by the Ukrainian General Staff this morning.

Someone detonated the larger bridge over the Inhulets in Daydiv Brid, indicating ongoing fighting in the area. A small one remains.
There are unconfirmed claims of a Ukrainian counter offensive around the village for two days now, but I didn't see a geolocated video.

Ukrainian troops, attacking the Russian-helf village prior the alleged recent push.
M777 artillery is used and the bridge is still operational in the video.

Terrible footage from #Kherson oblast.
Russian troops foiled at least one push of the Ukrainian counter offensive, killing at least 17 (Russians say, 90) Ukrainian soldiers when they attacked occupied #Vyssokopillya from the north.

Russian invasion forces are quickly advancing in #Severodonetsk. Fighting in some areas of the city already stopped and pro-Russian inhabitants came out to get drunk and great the invaders.
In other areas of the city, fighting continues.
Very conservative map!
Absolute surreal source video.
Not only do pro-Russian inhabitants (those 10% that remained in the city) get excited to greet their new rulers.
Even more remarkable imho is that there is no fighting visible or audible, despite this scene playing in a major residential area ...
Also remarkable: Invasion forces here seem to be Wagner mercenaries only.
