Simon #Commission was sent to #India in 1927 to suggest reforms in the structure of #Indian #Government Government but did not include any Indian member. It sparked a wave of protests. Crowds were lathi charged, Lala LajpatRai & Sher-e-Punjab were martyred in the agitation.

Civil Disobedience #movement was complete disobedience of orders of #British #Government. It was decided that #India would celebrate 26th January as #IndependenceDay. Thousands were #arrested along with #gandhiji and #JawaharlalNehru. #movement spread across the country.

dandi #March began on 12th March 1930 and ended on April 6th, 1930. A #nonviolent means of #protest garnered public #support and worldwide #Attention . #gandhiji walked from Sabarmati to Dandi nearly 400 km to protest against repressive salt tax imposed by colonial #Govt.

In #August 1942, a mass civil disobedience #movement to force the #British to leave #India was launched. All the prominent #leaders were arrested, the #Congress was banned and the #Police and #Army were brought out to suppress the movement.
