The Nicaraguan regime has murdered 127 mostly young opponents - and is quietly recruiting British trade unionists and influential Labour staffers to their murderous cause.
Two weeks ago the Embassy met with the NUT's Christine Blower, Unison's Paul Glober and Diane Abbott aide Matthew Willgress to coordinate its campaign of lies. lavozdelsandinismo.com/nicaragua/2018… Today Ortega regime propaganda is being spread at the GMB national congress.
Last week @AmnestyUK and @BiancaJagger launched a report into the regime's terror campaign. bbc.co.uk/news/world-lat… bianca jagger
From Monday.
The American commentator @ananavarro, Nicaraguan by birth, was just in the country and tweeted these newspaper front pages.
The Ortega regime is countering with a global disinformation campaign that is projecting its own violence back onto its opponents (as the Venezuelan regime has done). This is the lady who is running it in the UK labour movement. twitter bio of #NicaraguaVisit
Her timeline, that of the Embassy, and that of the 'Labour Friends of Progressive Latin America' @labourfplam group that Willgress runs, are full of mainly TeleSUR disinfo on the violence. As is the Morning Star's reporting. morningstaronline.co.uk/article/anti-g…
Their tactic is a straightforward one - to report the violence and destruction and looting that their own forces are generating as the fault of their opponents. Amnesty's report + coverage such as this and that of @nicadispatch shows the truth
The truth is also demonstrated by social media reporting . fusion.tv/story/590043/n…
Both David Pratt @foreigncorr1 and @nicadispatch have history with the Sandinista revolution in the 80s and there are a lot of others with that pro-Sandinista history similarly reporting in horror at what it has now become.
Here's Ken getting his orders from the Embassy. The tweet is cced to Chris Williamson, Stop The War, Cuba Solidarity + various Venezuelan propaganda outlets. None of this is spontaneous.
It's a global campaign, see this resolution from the far-left in the European Parliament that repeats all the same lies + 'anti-imperialist' tropes from the Ortega regime. europarl.europa.eu/sides/getDoc.d…

'US intervention' √
And this Russia Today story alleging that Langley is behind it all. rt.com/op-ed/428718-n… Which is of course the line of our local British Chavistas.
Not forgetting that the London Review of Books joined in too.
Nicaragua is descending into a massive bloodbath, the world seems to not be noticing and the UK labour movement is in danger of being on the wrong side. (cartoon by @Pxmolina)

Short thread on the LEFT opposition to Ortega/Murillo inside Nicaragua. Don't be fooled by Danielismo propaganda that paints those opposed to him as all 'right-wing'.
