Re: Anthony Bourdain, there is actually a fair amount of mourning in pro-2A circles this morning. Bourdain was not one of us by any stretch, but so many of us felt like he could've been... And I think a lot of people in a lot of different niches felt that way about him.
He wrote this, which often got passed around on gun boards. It was a favorite, not because it's somehow pro-gun, but because it's not exactly anti-gun, and to the extent that it's anti-gun it's anti-gun in the right way: anthonybourdain.tumblr.com/post/624245407…
Bourdain wasn't scared of scary-looking guns with scary features like grips or doodads or colors. He was scared of other people having guns, which is something anyone rational can relate to. Every gun owner is scared of some of the people they encounter at ranges, on hunts, etc.
Many gun owners, especially veterans, also know about demons, & how sometimes they win. Yet another way in which he felt like one of us, somehow. Anyway, enough about guns. Here's to Bourdain, and to one day meeting him in whatever far country he's now visiting & sharing a laugh.
Basically what this guy said, except instead of Caribbean Islanders it's also gun owners in flyover America.
