THREAD: In order to fund the N242.24bn 2019 Elections Budget, National Assembly plans to make cuts to certain programs and MDAs. It is a shame and also very WRONG that no cuts were made to @nassnigeria BUDGET.

NNPC has stated that it is settling the current subsidy costs from $1.05 billion revolving fund, kept with CBN.

It stated that funds were sourced from the corporation’s share dividend in the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG). #FixourOil
There has been enough explanations that the shares "owned" by NNPC in NLNG, are held on behalf of the Nigerian people.

Why is @NNPCgroup using funds that should accrue to the Federation account for subsidy? #AskQuestions #FixourOil
NNPC in its monthly reports also deducts funds for under-recovery (subsidy) before remittance to the Federation Accounts.

There are huge questions to be answered.

~ This administration implemented the Treasury Single Account(TSA) which the formal administration launched in 2012, but failed to gain traction until President @MBuhari's executive order in 2015.
the TSA allows the managers of the govt's finances to have a comprehensive overview of cash flow across the entire Government.

As at March 2018,about 1,674 MDAs had enrolled into the TSA, up from 766 in Dec. 2016 and inflow of N8.9T had been recorded from MDAs, as at March 2018.

On the 26th of March, 2015, former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan GCFR assented to the 2010 Electoral (Amendment) Bill, TWO days to the 2015 General Elections. This amendment passed by the 7th National Assembly ensured that there were free and fair elections in 2015.
The free and fair elections in 2015, led to the election of President Muhammadu Buhari. A man who claims to wear a toga of ‘integrity’. This man, benefitted from the 2015 Electoral Act amendment, YET, he has now REFUSED, 4 TIMES, to assent to the 2018 Electoral Act Amendment.

A lot has been said but none of these can invalidate the fact that the @bukolasaraki led 8th assembly is the most productive National Assembly since our return to Democracy in 1999, let me highlight a few of their accomplishments to buttress my assertion. ISSA THREAD !
1: In 2016, the @BukolaSaraki led 8th @NGRSenate initiated the first-ever National Assembly Joint Public Hearing on the budget. The 3-day Public Hearing was to give the public an opportunity to weigh-in on the Appropriations Bill.
2: To make the budget process more transparent, for the first time since 1999, the @bukolasaraki les 8th @NGRSenate laid the national budget together with its details when it passed the 2017 Appropriations Bill.

My attention has been drawn to reports that Obasanjo and Buhari are having an El Classico clash.

That is no El Classico.

It is more like Barcelona v Mamelodi Sundowns
Much as I have reservations about OBJ and his power sector spendings,

But relative to Buhari, he is like BARCELONA.

At least, we know OBJ started NIPP and EPSRA 2005 which GEJ aggressively executed.

Buhari has no Plan nor Reform initiative.
I have some issues with OBJs tenure

But at least we can concede that EFCC Act, ICPC, Power reforms Act, Pencom Act, NCC etc all came as Executive bills

GEJ did Sovereign Wealth Act

Buhari has failed to propose any reasonable bill for institutional reforms in any key sector
