The Judiciary is the only formal institution through which legal actions against accused persons are channeled and justice is sought after. The decisions and disposition of the courts bear important marks on other components of the criminal justice system. #ACJA_NG

3. Duties of a Magistrate under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015
Section 34
Designate Magistrate or Chief Magistrate to inspect police stations or detention centers as well as their record of arrests #ACJA_NG
4. Section 110(5)-(6)
Receive and review quarterly returns of all cases from Courts with the need to ensure court congestion is reduced and cases are dealt with speedily. #ACJA_NG
5. Section 111
Receive returns of all Awaiting Trial Inmates held in prison beyond 180 days from the Comptroller-General of Prisons every 90 days #ACJA_NG
6. Section 187
Make regulations for licensing of Corporate bodies to act as bondspersons for suspects. #ACJA_NG
7. Section 382(1)
Assign cases to trial Judge within 15 working days after filing

Section 461
Establish Community Service Centers headed by a Registrar in every judicial division to oversee community service orders #ACJA_NG
