*based on “Fact Sheet: Zero-Tolerance Prosecution and Family Reunification,” Hush, little baby, don’t say a word, DHS has a process established to ensure mama knows where you are, And if mama doesn’t know where you are,

...mama’s gonna have regular communication after separation to ensure that she’s reunited with you for purposes of removal.
And if mama is initially detained by CBP before you are sent to HHS’ ORR and she is placed in ICE custody, the process is well coordinated.

And if CBP hasn’t reunited you with mama as part of the Zero Tolerance Initiative, the reunion was delayed due to weather affecting travel and we expect that you will be reunited with mama within the next 24 hours.
And if you’re not reunited within the next 24 hours,

mama is a criminal alien. And if mama is not a criminal alien, but she has already signed the forms offered to her in court proceedings allowing her to choose to be summarily deported, it’s because mama elected to be removed without her babies.

And if mama did not elect to be removed, ICE has posted information in all of its facilities advising detained mamas who are trying to locate, and/or communicate with, their babies in the custody of HHS to call the Detention Reporting and Information Line for assistance.

And if mama calls the operator on Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM, live operators will be forwarded to HHS for action and ICE and HHS will coordinate a review of their custodial data to identify where baby is located, verify the mama/baby relationship, and set up...

...regular communication and removal coordination, if necessary.
And if mama doesn’t have access to a phone or can’t afford the call from the for-profit jail in which she’s detained, mama can use ICE’s online detainee locator by logging on at: locator.ice.gov/odls/#/index

And if mama doesn’t have internet access from her designated detention location, she can contact her foreign consulate to obtain travel documents so that mama and baby may return to the country from which she fled.

And if baby are one of the 2,053 separated minors being cared for in HHS funded facilities, HHS is working with relevant agency partners to foster communications and work towards reuniting every baby and every mama or papa via well-established reunification processes.

And if baby is located in the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement in HHS Administration, mama or papa should contact the ORR National Call Center (acf.hhs.gov/orr/resource/o…) at 1-800-203-7001, or via email [e-mail].

And if baby has arrived at an HHS funded facility, within 24 hours baby will be given the opportunity to communicate with a vetted mama. And if mama has passed the reasonable safety precautions in place to ensure that she is in fact your mama, every effort will be made to ensure

baby is able to communicate with mama at least twice per week.
And if you can’t find mama or mama has not passed the reasonable safety precautions, baby is permitted to call Tio or Tia living in the United States and abroad.
And if baby doesn’t know Tio’s phone number, ...

...or is too young or too traumatized to speak, baby has unlimited telephone access to an attorney, to which you are not entitled.
And if no pro bono legal resources are available, you’ll still be the sweetest little baby in town.
